Commenting further on the workmanship of the yachts, Mille said; “It is just like our watches – there is a sense of coherence, dynamic beauty that comes down to the smallest of details. These classical yachts have elegance, power and potency. They are noble and sailing on one is a profoundly emotional experience. It is these emotions that we will show to the world with the Richard Mille Cup and we hope that many people experience them; that is our objective.” Richard Mille was speaking during a press conference revealing details about the race, set to take place from 10-25 June, 2023. William Collier, organiser of the world-renowned Fife Regatta since 1998 and an expert in restoring historical yachts to superb standards, said that the yachts are important cultural artefacts and that the Richard Mille Cup is a new phase of classic yacht racing that captures the DNA of the sport. “It also goes beyond the boats themselves,” he said. “The quality of the welcome, the spirit of the crews, the owners and spectators will all come together to make the event a success, and hopefully the fortune of the weather will be on our side. The Richard Mille Cup is a combination of inshore regattas and offshore courses between 65 and 100 nautical miles on both the English and French sides of the Channel. Meeting
