Another notable addition to Cartier’s 2023 collection is the Clash [Un]limited, another hybrid timepiece that incorporates elements of jewellery. This one is edgy, bold and modern, with a bracelet that incorporates rolling beads as centre links. This can be seen as a reference to the legacy of Jeanne Toussaint, Cartier’s longtime artistic director who was interested in geometric shapes, and experimented with juxtaposing elegance with the industrial aesthetic of ball bearings as early as the 1930s. The design alternates brushed with satin- finish gold, combining yellow or rose gold with a new shade of violet gold developed especially for Cartier. There are also limited-edition models which are even more visually striking: one is black and white, with onyx, black spinels, obsidian and diamonds, and one exuberantly multi- hued with coral, black spinels, chrysoprase, tsavorites and diamonds. In fact, an Emirati might notice that the orangey- reds, greens, whites and blacks echo the colours of a United Arab Emirates flag. Other timepieces mentioned above delve back into centuries past for their inspiration, but the Clash [Un]limited belongs to a series, Clash de Cartier, that celebrates the more recent creative legacy of punk. Marrying sharp geometric forms and sensory delight to mechanical complexity, it evokes a creative movement that happened a half-decade ago while reworking it in a way that’s entirely new. Like the other exclusive timepieces mentioned above, it mines mythical iconography while looking towards the untapped potential of the future, ensuring it will still stay relevant for many years to come. .
to Louis Cartier that pocket watches were impractical while flying. Cartier created a distinctive square, flat timepiece that became an instant classic and the maison’s first men’s wristwatch. Now, a new twist on this understated watch has been developed, with a special 9629 MC automatic skeleton calibre. The updated Santos-Dumont watch comes with a gold or steel case, visible screws, a beaded crown, blue cabochon and skeleton movement. This movement includes a miniature oscillating weight in the shape of the trailblazing plane designed by the watches namesake pilot more than 100 years ago. This appears to soar as the movement travels around the dial. The newer model stays true to the spirit of the 1904 classic, and to the spirit of Santos-Dumont himself, who designed more than 22 flying machines, filing several patents and risking his life during experimental flights. The micro-rotor calibre of the updated timepiece is similarly innovative, requiring two years to develop and comprising 212 individual components. It’s made in rose gold and steel, and limited edition is also available in yellow gold and navy lacquer, which coats the details, bezel, case and skeleton bridges, where it is applied delicately by hand. While the two timepieces mentioned above were based on masculine styles, Cartier also unveiled updated models that are more traditionally feminine at Watches and Wonders. One of these is the Baignoire, originally created in 1912, with a hallmark oval dial. For 2023, the new Baignoire has new proportions and its signature Roman numerals are crowned with a richer gold ribbon. Occupying a space between horology and luxury jewellery, it is available in rose gold, yellow gold or fully paved.

2023 ثمّــة إضافــة أخــرى ملحوظــة فــي مجموعــة كارتييــه لعــام هي “كاش أن-ليميتد”، وهي سـاعة هجينة أخرى تتمتّع بسـمات المجوهـرات. تتميـز هـذه السـاعة بأنهـا جريئـة وعصريـة، وتحتوي علــى ســوار يتضمــن خــرزات دوارة كوصــات مركزيــة. يمكــن اعتبـار ذلـك بمثابـة إشـارة إلـى إرث جـان توسـان، المديـرة الفنيـة لكارتييـه لفتـرة طويلـة، التـي كانـت مهتمـة باألشـكال الهندسـية، وجرّبــت األناقــة جنبــا إلــى جنــب مــع الجمــال الصناعــي للمحامــل ذات الكريّــات منــذ ثاثينــات القــرن الماضــي. يتنــاوب التصميــم بيـن الذهـب المصقـول والذهـب المصقـول بالسـاتان، ويجمـع بيـن الذهب األصفر أو الوردي مع درجة جديدة من الذهب البنفسجي المطـور خصيصـا لكارتييـه. هنـاك أيضـا طـرازات محـدودة تتميـز بإثـارة بصريـة أكبـر: إحداهـا باللونيــن األســود واألبيــض، مــع األونكــس واألســبينيل األســود والسبج والماس، واألخرى متعددة األلوان بالمرجاني واألسبينيل األســود والكريزوبريــز والتســافوريت األخضــر الزاهــي والمــاس. فـي الواقـع، يمكـن لشـخص إماراتـي أن ياحـظ أن درجـات األحمر البرتقالـي واألخضـر واألبيـض واألسـود تحاكـي ألـوان علـم دولـة اإلمـارات العربيـة المتحـدة. وإذ تعـود السـاعات األخـرى المذكـورة أعـاه إلـى القـرون الماضيـة لتســتلهم تصاميمهــا، فــإن ســاعة “كاش أن-ليميتــد” تنتمــي إلــى سلسـلة “كاش دو كارتييـه” التـي تحتفـل بإرث الحركة اإلبداعية األكثر حداثة لموسـيقا البانك. من خال دمج األشـكال الهندسـية الحـادة والمتعـة الحسـية مـع التعقيـد الميكانيكـي، تسـتحضر هـذه السـاعة حركـة إبداعيـة حدثـت قبـل نصـف عقـد مـن الزمـن، وتعيد صياغتهــا بطريقــة جديــدة تمامــاً. وكمــا فــي الســاعات الحصريــة األخـرى المذكـورة أعـاه، تسـتحضر هـذه السـاعة رموزا أسـطورية وهــي تتطلــع قدمــا إلــى إمكانــات جديــدة غيــر مســتغلة فــي المسـتقبل، مـا يضمـن لهـا أن تظـل مائمـةً، وأن تحافـظ على تألقها . لسنوات عديدة قادمة.
كارتييـه سـاعة مميـزة مربعـة ومسـطحة، أصبحـت فـورا سـاعة يـد كاسـيكية، وأول سـاعة معصـم رجاليـة مـن الـدار. اآلن، أضيفت لمسة جديدة على هذه الساعة البسيطة، مع عيارات خاصـة. تأتـي سـاعة سـانتوس- MC 9629 هيكليّــة أوتوماتيكيـة دومون المحدثة مع إطار ذهبي أو فوالذي، وبراغي لولبية مرئية، وتاج مطعّم، وكابوشـون أزرق، وآليّة حركة هيكليّة. تتضمن هذه اآلليّــة وزنـا متذبذبـا صغيرا على شـكل طائـرة رائدة صممها الطيار عـام. يبدو 100 الـذي أطلـق علـى هـذه السـاعة اسـمه منـذ أكثـر مـن هـذا الـوزن وكأنـه يحلّــق عندمـا تطوف اآلليّة حول ميناء السـاعة. الكاســيكية، 1904 يحافــظ الطــراز الجديــد بوفــاء علــى روح طائــرة، 22 وروح ســانتوس-دومون نفســه الــذي صمــم أكثــر مــن وحصـل علـى العديـد مـن بـراءات االختـراع، وخـاض فـي حياتـه رحات تجريبية عرّض خالها حياته للخطر. تعد حركة الميكرو- روتـور المبتكـرة فـي هـذه السـاعة المحدثـة مبتكـرة بنفـس القـدر، عنصـرا فرديـاً. 212 حيـث اسـتغرق تطويرهـا سـنتين وتتكـون مـن تتوفــر الســاعة بالذهــب الــوردي والفــوالذ، وتتوفــر كذلــك طبعــة محــدودة بالذهــب األصفــر وطــاء باللــون األزرق الداكــن، الــذي يغطــي التفاصيــل والحافــة واإلطــار وجســور الهيــكل، حيــث تــم تطبيقــه يدويــا بحرفيّــة ودقــة. فـي حيـن أن السـاعتين المذكورتيـن أعـاه مصممتـان وفـق أنمـاط ذكوريـة، قدمـت كارتييـه فـي معـرض “ووتشـز أنـد وانـدرز” كذلـك نماذج محدثة تعكس األنوثة التقليدية. أحدها هو ساعة “بينوار” وتتميز بشـكل بيضاوي مميز. 1912 التـي ابتُكـرت أصـا فـي العـام ، جاءت “بينوار” الجديدة بنسب جديدة وبأرقام 2023 وفي العام رومانية مميزة مزينة بشريط ذهبي أكثر ثراءً. تتراوح بين كونها سـاعة يـد وقطعـة مجوهـرات فاخـرة، فهـي متاحـة بتصاميـم مـن الذهـب الـوردي، أو الذهـب األصفر، أو مرصّعة بالكامل.
