فــي إطــار مجهــود منفصــل، بــدأت شــركة “ســال” وهــي إحــدى ، بتزويد المزارعين المتعاقدين معها، الذين ADQ شركات القابضة فـرد، بتحليل مجاني للتربة والمياه وبدعم 900 يزيـد عددهـم عـن فني على صعيد الممارسات الزراعية االقتصادية وتحسين الغال. دأبـت الحكومـة أيضـا على التصدي للتوزيع غير المتكافئ للموارد المائية، وهي مشكلة كبيرة تواجه المزارعين. وفي العام الماضي، قـال معالـي سـهيل المزروعـي، وزيـر الطاقـة والبنيـة التحتيـة، إن مليـار درهـم لتوسـيع شـبكات 2.5 اإلمـارات تسـتثمر مـا يصـل إلـى الميــاه اإلضافيــة إلــى المــزارع لتســهيل توزيــع الميــاه المعالجــة. وتسـهم الشـبكة الموسـعة فـي زيـادة المناطـق المحروثـة وتعزيـز كان تشـجيع األعمال والمؤسسـات التجارية على شـراء المنتجات ، وجهـت اإلمـارات 2022 المحليـة هـو التحـدي التالـي. ففـي العـام العربية المتحدة الجهات الحكومية كالقوات المسلحة والسلطات بالمئة من بنود غذائية محددة من السـوق 50 الصحية إلى شـراء بالمئــة 70 لتصــل إلــى 2024 المحليــة، وزيــادة هــذه النســبة عــام .2030 بالمئـة بحلـول 100 و اسـتدامة القطـاع الزراعـي. اقتصاد دائري في الغذاء ولكــن الوصــول إلــى المــزارع المحليــة ليــس ســها علــى الجميــع. ” سوقا رقمية في العام Fresh on Table ولذلك، أطلقت منصة “ لوصــل األعمــال والمســتهلكين بالمــزارع المحليــة مباشــرة. 2019 ولمنصــة التكنولوجيــات الزراعيــة هــذه، التــي تعمــل انطاقــا مــن دبــي، شــراكة متواصلــة مــع المطاعــم والطهــاة والفنــادق، ومنهــا طنـا مـن 440 مجموعـة فنـادق هيلتـون التـي حرصـت علـى شـراء المنتجـات المحليـة سـنويا لمنشـآتها فـي اإلمـارات، وتتوقـع زيـادة طـن. 900 هـذه الكميـة إلـى أكثـر مـن ال يكتمــل النظــام الغذائــي المســتدام دون حــل إلعــادة اســتخدام نفايات األغذية. وتزيد الكمية التقديرية لنفايات األغذية المنزلية 95 ألــف طــن ســنويا أو 923 فــي اإلمــارات العربيــة المتحــدة عــن كـغ للفـرد سـنوياً، أي ضعـف نظيرتهـا فـي الهنـد وفقـا لتقريـر مؤشـر . وفـي 2021 نفايـات األغذيـة لبرنامـج األمـم المتحـدة للبيئـة للعـام ظل المعدل الراهن، فنفايات األغذية وهدر الطعام تكلف اقتصاد مليـارات درهـم سـنوياً. 6 اإلمـارات العربيـة المتحـدة مـا يصـل إلـى إلــى HeroGo تحــدث دانييــل ســولومن، مؤســس “هيروغــو” “شـواطئ” قائـاً: “تمثـل المنازل مسـاهما رئيسـيا فـي هدر الطعام مليارات درهم 6 ونفايات األغذية التي تصل قيمتها السنوية إلى
مسـاحة المشـروع لهـذه األنشـطة. وعنـد إكمالهـا، سـتتيح المدينـة صنف من المحاصيل باإلضافة إلى اسـتيعاب 300 إنتاج أكثر من أكثـر مـن ألـف مقيـم. المزارعون المحليون: العمود الفقري إلنتاج الغذاء يضطلــع المزارعــون المحليــون بــدور حاســم فــي تعزيــز مرونــة الغذاء. ومن الماحظ أكثر فأكثر أن المزارعين اإلماراتيين بدؤوا بالتخلي عن مزارعهم أو التحول إلى المحاصيل الثانوية المعمّرة لعجزهم عن منافسـة المنتجات المسـتوردة، بحسـب سـعيد راشـد العابـدي، عضـو المجلـس الوطنـي االتحـادي. وقـال إن المزارعيـن المحليين ينتقلون إلى محاصيل كنخيل التمر، ألن حراثتها أرخص وتسـويقها أسـهل مقارنـة بمنتجـات الغـذاء األخرى. فـي مواجهـة التحديـات المتنوعـة التـي تواجـه المزارعيـن، قدمت بالمئــة 50 لهــم الحكومــة الميــاه بأســعار مدعومــة وحســما بنســبة على المواد الزراعية كالبذور واألسمدة ومبيدات اآلفات وقروضا 5,400 خاصــة أيضــا لشــراء اآلالت والمعــدات. وبالفعــل، اســتفاد مزارع إماراتي من باقة الدعم التي قدمتها وزارة التغير المناخي والبيئــة للقطــاع علــى مــدى الســنوات الثاثــة الماضيــة. وتعمــل الــوزارة أيضــا علــى زيــادة عــدد مــواد الدعــم الزراعــي المقدمــة بنــداً. واســتفاد 128 إلــى 110 للمزارعيــن بنصــف الســعر مــن آالف المزارعيــن أيضــا علــى مــدار العــام مــن مســابقات وأســواق أسـبوعية ومهرجانات سـنوية ترعاها الحكومة تهدف إلى ترويج منتجاتهــم وبيعهــا. أطلقـت هيئـة أبوظبـي للزراعـة والسـامة الغذائيـة نسـخة محليـة لارتقاء 2020 من الممارسات الزراعية الجيدة العالمية في العام أكثـر بسـوية المـزارع اإلماراتيـة ومسـاعدتها فـي المنافسـة عالمياً. وتطبــق الخطــة معاييــر اإلنتــاج الزراعــي عالــي الجــودة لضمــان سامة الغذاء واإلدارة البيئية المستدامة وعافية العمال من خال منـح المـزارع التـي تطبـق هـذه المعاييـر شـهادة معترفا بهـا عالمياً. مزرعــة فــي 1,500 ، حصلــت أكثــر مــن 2023 اعتبــارا مــن فبرايــر في 550 أبوظبي على هذه الشهادة بعد أن كان عددها ال يتجاوز . ولكن البرنامج أكثر من مجرد شهادة، إذ تتلقى جميع 2021 العام مزارع أبوظبي الحاصلة على شهادة الممارسات الزراعية الجيدة اإلرشـاد والتوجيـه مـن هيئـة أبوظبـي للزراعـة والسـامة الغذائيـة لتحسـين بنيتهـا التحتيـة. وهـذا التوجيـه يغطـي مناطـق مناولـة الفواكـه والخضـروات وخزانـات الميـاه ومنتجـات حمايـة النباتـات ومرافــق تخزيــن المــواد الكيميائيــة. باإلضافــة إلــى ذلــك، يجــري تدريــب العمــال فــي المــزارع المجــازة علــى جوانــب مختلفــة مــن إنتاج المحاصيل، ومنها سامة الغذاء والبيئة واألمن البيولوجي وتتبـع المنتجـات.

As of February 2023, more than 1,500 farms in Abu Dhabi were certified, up from 550 in 2021. However, the programme is more than just a certificate. All Abu Dhabi GAP-certified farms receive guidance from ADAFSA to improve their infrastructure. This guidance covers fruit and vegetable handling areas, water reservoirs, plant protection products, and chemical storage facilities. Additionally, workers in certified farms get trained in different aspects of crop production, including food and environmental safety, biosecurity, and produce traceability. In a separate effort, ADQ’s Silal recently started providing its contracted farmers, whose number exceeds 900 individuals, with free soil and water analysis as well as technical support on economical farming practices and improvement of yields. The government has also been working to address the uneven distribution of water resources, a major problem facing farmers. Last year, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, HE Suhail Al Mazrouei said that the UAE was investing as much as AED 2.5 billion to extend additional water networks to agricultural farms for easier distribution of treated water. The expanded network will help increase cultivated areas and enhance the sustainability of the agricultural sector. A CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN FOOD Getting businesses and organisations to source local produce was the next challenge. In 2022, the UAE directed state entities such as the armed forces and hospital authorities to procure 50 per cent of certain food items locally, rising to 70 per cent in 2024 and 100 per cent by 2030. However, reaching local farms is not easy for everyone. With this in mind, Fresh on Table launched a digital marketplace in 2019 to connect businesses and consumers directly with local farms. The Dubai-based agritech platform has ongoing partnerships with restaurants, chefs, and hotels, including Hilton Hotel Group, which has been sourcing 440 tonnes of local produce annually for its UAE properties and expects this volume to increase to over 900 tonnes. A sustainable food system would not be complete without a solution to repurpose food waste. The UAE’s estimated
will also serve as an incubator for advanced farms – including indoor and vertical farms – with more than 60 per cent of the project’s space allocated to these activities. When completed, the city will enable the production of more than 300 varieties of crops as well as accommodate over 1,000 residents. LOCAL FARMERS: THE BACKBONE OF FOOD PRODUCTION Local farmers have a crucial role to play in strengthening food resilience. However, there is a growing phenomenon of Emirati farmers abandoning their farms or turning to secondary perennial crops due to their inability to compete with imported products, according to Saeed Rashid Al Abedy, a member of the Federal National Council. Local farmers, he said, were moving to crops such as date palms, because they were cheaper to cultivate and more marketable compared to other food products. In response to the various challenges facing farmers, the government has been providing them with subsidised water tariffs, a 50 per cent discount on agricultural material such as seeds, fertilisers and pesticides, as well as special loans to buy machinery and equipment. In fact, MOCCAE’s support package for the sector has benefited 5,400 Emirati farmers over the past three years. The ministry is also working to raise the number of agricultural support materials provided to farmers at half the price from 110 to 128 items. Moreover, thousands of farmers benefit throughout the year from government-sponsored competitions, weekly markets, and annual festivals that aim to promote and sell their produce. To further elevate the status of UAE farms and help them become internationally competitive, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority [ADAFSA] launched a local version of the global Good Agricultural Practices [GAP] in 2020. The scheme applies standards of quality agricultural production to ensure food safety, sustainable environmental management, and workers’ welfare – granting farms applying these standards a globally recognised certificate.
