This investment not only enhanc- es Zumbiel Packaging's folding carton production capabil- ities but also represents the dawn of a new era in automat- ed production workflows for the paperboard packaging sector. Recognizing the growing demand for faster turn- around and customization, Zumbiel has embraced digital printing technologies to revolutionize the traditional fold- ing carton manufacturing process. The massive new digital production line, which mea- sures over 180 feet in length, features automated roll han- dling and splicing, water-based expanded gamut inks, in- line coatings, inline post-print sheeting and downstream material handling logistics which will enable Zumbiel Pack- aging to feed their stable of large format (145 cm) sheet- fed die-cutters with speed, efficiency and flexibility. According to Ed Zumbiel, the robust HP PageWide T470S Press perfectly complements their mega-volume beverage multipack production model and increases ef- ficiency throughout their operations by providing greater order flexibility, more production agility, and faster speed to market with exceptional print quality.
