Dr. Sean McDaniel Superintendent, Oklahoma City Public Schools
Dr. McDaniel began his career in education as a language arts instructor at Denver’s Highland High School from 1986-1988. He has served in several teaching, coaching and administrative capacities in both Colorado and Oklahoma. A proud graduate of Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Dr. McDaniel went on to earn his master’s degree in educational administration from NSU and his doctorate in educational leadership from Oklahoma State University. This year marks his 37th year in education and his 21st as a district superintendent. In July of 2018, Dr. Sean McDaniel was named Superintendent of Schools for Oklahoma City Public Schools.
Mr. Toby Blair Executive Director of College and Career Planning, Oklahoma City Public Schools Toby taught social studies in Mustang for five years before becoming an assistant principal at Longfellow Middle school in Norman. He also served as an assistant principal at Mustang High School for five years and worked with the freshman academy for two of those years. During his time at Mustang High School, Toby worked with students to create traditional and alternative paths to success after high school. In 2019, Toby helped open the brand new Mustang Central Middle School, and has served as the principal since then. Toby looks forward to joining #TeamOKCPS in this role and to focus on his passion of supporting and encouraging students to engage in the college and career planning process early in their academic careers.
Mr. Scot McAdoo Director of Workforce Development, Oklahoma City Public Schools
Mr. McAdoo has over 32 years of experience in education. He began his career as a science teacher for Muskogee Public Schools before joining #TeamOKCPS as a teacher for Southeast High School and Classen SAS Mid-High. Mr. McAdoo has held several roles within OKCPS including educational technology specialist, director of iOKCPS Virtual Institute (the district’s virtual learning option prior to the e3 Online Learning program), the dean of students at Classen SAS Mid-High and head principal for Northeast Academy and Webster Middle School. He has spent the last five years as the head principal of Classen SAS High School at Northeast. While serving as a building administrator, he received the Sam and Charolet Shirley Principal of the Year award. Mr. McAdoo earned a bachelor’s degree in science education from Northeastern State University and a master’s of education in instructional design from the University of Oklahoma. He has also received official certification from the Executive Development Program through the National Institute for School Leadership (NISL).
