Sacchital To Open Flexo Plant With Bobst Technology BY GREG KISHBAUGH Flexible packaging producer Sacchital is adding a new flexographic printing facility in Pregnana, Italy. Sacchital is adding the 2,200 square-meter site with a BOBST VI- SION CI press, operating alongside its existing rotogravure and digital printing.

The site has been developed by Sacchital’s management team with support from Emilio Alliegro, sales manager of flexible packaging at Bobst Italia. The VISION CI Bobst press is configured to handle both short and long production runs and includes automated functions aimed at re- ducing setup times, improving repeatability and limiting waste. The press is fitted with Bobst’s smartGPS (Graphic Positioning Sys- tem) and can operate with both solvent-based and water-based inks through separate washing circuits. Sacchital Group specializes in paper-based flexible packaging and has been active in the sector for more than eight decades. The group reports annual revenue of $164.4 million, with around half generated from exports to markets including Europe, the United States and North Africa. It employs 400 staff across five production sites, with the Sacchi- tal operation in Pregnana Milanese described as the original and core plant. Total group output capacity is 600 million square meters, produced across facilities covering 350,000 square meters.
