The Council , a non-profit 501-C-3, began in 1958, to provide education and treatment services, to individuals afflicted with alcohol problems, and their families. With the escalation of drug abuse, these services were expanded to include treatment for chemical dependency. The Council offers the following services: • Intensive Residential Treatment (adult males) @ Unity Treatment Center (formerly DAARC) • Right Choice Outpatient of Beaumont: adults & adolescents 13-17 • Right Choice of Orange County (Pinehurst): adults & adolescents 13-17 • Right Choice of Mid and South Jefferson County (Port Arthur): adults & adolescents 13-17 • SETCADA Community Coalition Partnership focuses on the state’s three prevention priorities of alcohol (underage drinking), marijuana, and/or prescription drug abuse. Our Mission Statement: To advocate and provide necessary substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment services, for the community at large.
SETCADA Community Coalition Partnership The SETCADA (CCP) is developing strategic partnerships across all social-economic and
educational lines that include representatives from various community sectors such as young adults, parents, business communities, media, schools, law enforcement agencies, faith-based organizations, civic and volunteer groups, health care professionals, state and local and/or tribal government agencies with expertise in the field of substance abuse and other organizations involved in reducing substance abuse. The SETCADA (CCP) will encourage community mobilization with a focus of changing social norms (community attitudes) / Policies (Social Hosting). Our primary target population is 18-25 at
surrounding area colleges and the general community. By working together we can accomplish our mission to reduce driving fatalities, DUI’s, drinking related violence, alcohol/ drug overdoses, and early onset of addiction. Alcohol and Drug presentations are available through the coalition. Please contact our Coalition Coordinator for an appointment or for more information regarding the program.
