THE KI NG' S BUS I NES S ise to do bu t to accept a fact,— His life. There was no change. F inally afte r ano th er afternoon spent we pointed out th e “ parting of th e ways” leading th e worker to glory and th e engineer to the Judgm en t of i th e G reat White Throne. As we said, “ Good-bye,” rea l izing th e parting to be final th e w orker broke down. All a t once th e Engineer jumped to his feet and w ith te ars in his eyes said, “ I have made my decision. I will accept Christ.” He told the w orker afterw ard th a t seeing a strang er b reak out in te ars because of his lost condition, broke him all up and he realized how much more h e ought to be concerned about his own soul. “ P ride alone kept me,” he said.— Oscar Zim merman, Supt. Definite R esu lts of T ra ct W ork “In th e morning sow thy seed, and in th e evening w ithhold no t thy hand, for thou knowest no t w hether shall prosper, eith er th is or th a t, or whether they both shall be alike good,’’ Eccl. 11 : 6 . How tru e is th e above Scripture be cause “God, who cannot lie” says so, and for th is reason, if no other, we, who profess to love Christ, should do th a t which is w ithin WORK AMONG our reach and which THE MEXICANS is sp simple— give ou t th e Word of God, eith er in the form of tracts, Gos pels or New Testaments, th e doing of which so often leads to personal in te r views. , Now 'and again our h earts are en couraged when we h ear of definite resu lts from our tra c t distribution. About two months ago while going from house to house in one of the ra il road camps, we m et a young man who was reading a book.. We told him we had a book which would show him th e way of life, and opening up a Spanish New Testam ent, showed him the pledge t o : read a chapter a day, which he
signed. Then we had him tu rn to th e back of the book and read th e decision for Christ, and asked him if he would accept Jesus Christ as his Saviour, which he did, signing his name in the Testament. We did not see him again, as he soon 10ft th e camp, b u t ju st re cently a le tte r came from him in which he thank ed us for showing him th e way to etern al life, also stating th a t he was reading the New Testam ent, and re questing th a t we send him more books to help him in th e study of th e Scrip tu re. While holding an outdoor meeting in one of these railroad camps w ith a group of thirty-six men, we gave th e message and then read th e decision in th e back of th e T estam ent and said th a t if any one would sign it, th u s ac cepting Jesus Christ, I would give them th e Testam ent. Imm ediately a man jumped up from th e crowd and came w ith pencil in hand. Following him , ano th er man and a woman also signed up th e decision. A week la te r we gath ered a small company of believers in th e Lower Auditorium of the Bible In stitu te and baptized six believers, afte r which we celebrated th e Lord’s Supper. Thus the Lord encourages our h earts as we labor from day to day among the Mexican population, and we desire to ascribe all the praise and glory to His g reat and holy name.— H. Bender, Supt. In stitu te Evangelist a t L a Verne Rev. W. P. Nicholson, Bible In stitu te Evangelist, has been holding meetings in La Verne, California. A recent let te r from him, is as follows: “L a.V erne is one of NICHOLSON th e p rettiest spots I MEETINGS have ever been in. They used to call it “Lordsburg,” and it was well named, too, un til th e ungodly made use of the name to ridicule religion by calling it “ Jesu s town,” and then they changed th e name. .. . ; ■! u
