Today we are to h ear a very w onderful story about a friend who w ent away and left us something to rem ember him by. P rayer. Lesson Story: Before Jesus w ent back to His home in heaven, He and H is disciples m et in a room in the home of one of H is friends one evening and had a farew ell or good-bye supper to­ gether. This was a farew ell supper for it was th e last one Jesus would ea t w ith His disciples. He told them how He was going to die to save people from th e ir sins if they would believe on Him, and th a t afte r H is death He was going back to heaven. One of th e disciples was no t a t th is farewell supper. Maybe you can tell me which one it was? Yes, th e one whose name was Judas, who did no t really love Jesu s in his h eart, and when some wicked men offered him money to tu rn Jesu s over to them to be killed, Ju d a s took th e money. Now we come to th e p a rt of our sto ry th a t tells us w h at Jesu s did th a t would help th e disciples and all who loved Jesu s to always rem em ber Him, and w h at He did for them . Jesu s took a piece of bread and offered th ank s to God His heavenly F a th e r, and th en He broke it in pieces and gave to th e disciples and said, tak e, eat: th is is My body, which is broken fo r you: th is do in remem ­ brance of Me. He m eant th a t the broken bread was like H is body, be­ cause H is body was soon to be broken, and crucified, and offered upon the cross for them . A fter He had eaten the broken bread w ith H is disciples, He took th e cup w ith grape juice in it, and afte r giving th ank s to God, He gave it
