OBJECTS: Two triangles. (Cut one from tin and the other from silver- colored paper. Each side should be 6 inches long.) LESSON: This tin triangle reminds uS of certain things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ. In Hebrews 4:15, referring to Christ, we read, “In all points [He was]. tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” f Just as this triangle has three points, so the Lord Jesus was tempted in three points. A ll temptation is in „ one of three classes. “For all that is in the world, the lust o f the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world” (1 John 2:16). It would not be possible for us to tear off one of the points of this triangle. Neither was it possible for Satan to cause Christ to sin. The temptation of the Lord Jesus was a testing which showed Him to be the Son of God, the sinless One. Here is another triangle. It looks Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor In spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek:.for they shall Inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. v 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. ^ 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ' 43 Ye have heard that it hath been said. Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you# Love your ene mies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the Just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? ye sa,ute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. LESSON T E X T : Matt. 5:3-10, 43-48. GOLDEN T E X T : “ Blessed are they whic are persecuted for righteousness' sake: fo

bright, but I am -sorry to say that with a very little, effort any one of its points could be torn off. [Tear slightly, but do not pull, the tip off.] It reminds me of a Christian standing alone. No one .is capable of resisting Satan by himself. The secret of the Christian’s success is in his keeping close to Christ. As I put the paper triangle close to the tin triangle, it cannot be torn. We are reminded o f,the words- found in Hebrews 2:18, “For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.” [Shift the position of the triangles to make a six-pointed star.] Look, we now have a star. As the stars give hope and guidance to travelers, so a Christian kept by Christ will be an encouragement to those who journey through life, desiring to be kept from temptation. theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 5:10). \ DEVOTIONAL READING: Psa. 15.
