GOD WITH US [Continued from Page 399]
minded that, before He as King comes back with us, He is to come for us, to catch us up to meet Him in the air. His second coming to the earth must be preceded by many events, and signs, and times. But the great event for which we are appointed to wait ■ is a signless and timeless event, which may transpire at any moment of any day or any night. “Amen. Even so, come. Lord Jesus,” KEEP LOOKING UP. The New York group (two years old) has given $305.00 in 491 Bibles, 3,937 Testaments, arid55,684 Gospels. The grand total, for the three groups is $3,070.85 for 1,525 Bibles, 12,351 Tes taments, and 96,478 Gospels. What it Means to the Girls “I believe every Christian domestic girl should be a Gospel Sower,” one teitifies. “This organization is the di rect answer to the prayer of the girl who longs to be of service to the Lord, yet is hampered by confining home employment.” .■ “Being in domestic work,” writes another, “it is impossible for us to devote much time to the usual Gos pel work, therefore this organization gives an excellent opportunity for us to help shed the light both at home and abroad.” “Besides the satisfaction of having" a part in the obedience to ‘Go! Tell!’ we have gained immeasurably spir itually -by the increased fellowship with the Lord and one another.” And this from the bulletin of the Gospel Sowers: "As our gifts increase, we are thankful our vision of the needy fields is broadened, thus giv ing us the privilege of enlarging our shipments of the Word to the various appointed fields." has neither beginning nor ending (cf. Rev. 21:6). Hence the opening verses of this Gospel link Him with eternity and the eternal God. Let it be remembered that each of the four evangelists proves all o f these points; That Jesus was the King of Israel, the Servant of Jehovah, the perfect Son of Man, and the eternal Son of God. But each writer empha sizes one of the above-named pictures of our Lord. That explains why there are four accounts of His earthy mini- try—each meeting the need of some special group of people, and each meeting the need of us all in different ways.. Compassion for Suffering Israel
In Isaiah 9:6, 7, the Son “ born” at Bethlehem, and “given” to the death of Calvary, is called “Wonderful, Coun selor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, and The Prince of Peace.” In Eeclesiastes 12:14, it is written that “God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” But 2 Corinthians 5:10 tells us that this is to be. done “before the judgment seat of Christ.” According to John 5:22-27, “ the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judg ment unto the Son... and hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.” And, in Acts 17:31, it is written that “God hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the w o r l d in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.” He hath appointed A-DAY. We waited long for D-DAY. We have waited much longer for A-DAY; but at the appointed time it will come. “Yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry” (Heb. 10;37). And'when He comes—“when the Son o f man shall come in his glory, and all; the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gath ered all nations” (Matt. 25:3l, 32). Thus shall He begin His work of judg ing the world in righteousness. Too, it is He that shall sit upon the judgment seat in the awful assize o f Revelation 20:11-15; and from His face the earth and the heaven will flee away. Then and there, those who have rejected Him as Saviour must face Him as Judge. ’ In the vision described in his sixth chapter, Isaiah saw “the Lo rd ... high and lifted up” and he called Him Jehovah Sabaoth—“the King, Jehovah of Hosts” ; and in John 12:41* we are informed that it was the Eternal Son he saw t he r e : “These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of .him.” In Jeremiah 23:5, 6, He is called the Righteous Branch who shall sit on David’s throne; and the promise is re newed in Luke 1:31-33 by the angel Gabriel: “And,' behold, thou shalt con ceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called thè Son of the Highest; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.” All this will come to pass in due time. But meanwhile, let us be re

In the extremity of their .dire need, after terrible sufferings under Nazi persecution, many Jewish Christian refugees have turned to us for help. To some we have given food and shelter in our refugee Homes in*Great Britain. To some we have provided passage money to emigrate to safety. To others, as in Palestine, we have provided relief to the new comers until they were self-sustaining. To all we have witnessed concerning a liv ing, loving Saviour Who is sufficient for the sorrowing and suffering. Here are a few testimonies from our files: “ Your kind letter is a greet?* ing from the living Lord. How glad I am for your help! The $50.00 per month will enable me to carry on my refugee work here.“ Another mission ary wrote: “ It seems as if I, like St. Peter, were walking on the waves of the sea of suffering ttfat surrounds me." Another refugee wrote: “Your letter and help gave me joy. I long to express my gratitude from the bot tom of my heart that there is still"* existing even in these days such gen uine Christian love.“ A s through, the years o f the N a zi era w e h ave m in istered to - the per secuted and a fflicted in Israel w ith Christian com passion, so w e plah to redouble our, effo rts in th e m idst o f unparalleled need and opportu nity in the p o st-w ar period.
