Technology Transfer &Transition AST supports and collaborates with research entities including the DOE, associated laboratories, and the Office of Technology Transfer to bring new technologies to fruition. These partner- ships, coupled with the hands-on expe- rience and interdisciplinary expertise of our team, make AST the ideal compa- ny to turn to for feasibility studies, business case assessments, policy evaluations, and advance technology assessments. First-of-a-Kind (FOAK)Applications AST is tasked, across the national R&D framework, to ensure technology development activities are brought to an appropriate level of maturity and transitioned within each project stage with a continued effort to reduce tech- nological risk commonly associated with FOAK applications-- from pre-ac- quisition design to operations.
Industrial Engineering Our experts serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) consultants to support advanced manufacturing in smart manufacturing, sustainable manufac- turing, additive manufacturing, and cybersecurity (cyber-physical environ- ment). Our efforts support production cost and schedule reduction efforts, correction of deficiencies, and system improvements and the methods to deploy these solutions across the U.S. manufacturing ecosystem. Commercial Energy ASTs commercial energy consultants provide Quality Management System (QMS) support to upstream and midstream operators in the U.S. oil and natural gas industry. AST is ISO:9001 certified and can also provide ISO experience and QMS expertise to help clients design, build, and operate their own QMS and QA/QC programs.
