SPRING 2024
A message from Director of Parks & Recreation, Frank Carson
Our spring programming consistently brings new growth to the El Cajon community. This is especially true as we restart our swim lesson programs and aquatics services. Drowning is now the leading cause of death for youth under the age of 14. In El Cajon, we offer swim lessons as part of our greater public safety strategy. Drowning prevention is taken very seriously by all staff and we hope to continually educate families about being vigilant in and around the water. This spring, we will also have a large citywide event called America on Main Street, which will be Saturday, May 18, from 3-8pm in Downtown El Cajon. All activities, rides, and games are free to the public. An event within America on Main Street is Foodie Fest, which highlights many local eateries for a low-cost entrance. We encourage our residents to get outside and enjoy your parks and recreation services this spring!
