A Loss the Size of Texas A Legacy Even Bigger By Joseph B. Pipitone, ISA-certified arborist, MPA

On May 9, 2026, the tree care world lost a giant. David Mauk tragically passed away that Sat- urday afternoon, and his pass- ing sent shockwaves throughout the industry. It has been said that the pain we feel from losing someone is directly correlated to the love we had for them. If that is true, then the outpouring of grief following David’s passing speaks volumes.
