Recommended for ages 13 & up In this two-man musical spoof, a pair of aspiring playwrights perform a backers’ audition for their new, ill-advised project — a big, splashy musical about printing press inventor Johann Gutenberg. With an unending supply of enthusiasm, Bud and Doug sing all the songs and play
all the parts in their crass historical epic, with the hope that one of the producers in attendance will give them that elusive Broadway contract.

Hadestown: Teen Edition Joe Bishara and Jamie Markovich McMahon
Participants rehearse and perform the 8-time Tony Award-winning folk opera, Hadestown: Teen Edition. Hadestown is a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience following two intertwining love stories — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of immortal King Hades and lady Persephone. Audiences are in for a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Inspired by traditions of classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz, this beguiling sung-through musical pits industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. Hadestown: Teen Edition performers must be available to rehearse Monday-Friday from 6:30-9 p.m., July 15-Aug. 7. Performers must be available for all performances Aug. 8-17.
