Healthy: Spring/Summer 2025

Safety City Safety City returns as part of our My First Camp (Ages 4-6) for Week 4 in 2025. This exciting, age-appropriate theme and curriculum teach young campers important safety awareness and preparedness skills through engaging activities. Local safety experts, including the Dublin Division of Police and Washington Township Fire Department, visit to share safety tips. Campers also participate in themed activities and receive a certificate of completion at the end of the week. To register for the Safety City experience, see Week 4 of My First Camp (#311100.04) on page 20.

SPECIALTY CAMPS

Visit our webpage at DublinOhioUSA.gov/preschool-youth- teen-programs/ to learn more information, review the Specialty Camp Handbook and subscribe to our Monthly Newsletter. For questions, contact Rachel Keitz, Recreation Coordinator, at rkeitz@dublin.oh.us. What is a Specialty Camp? Specialty Camps provide opportunities for participants to focus on a specific interest, such as a sport (like tennis, soccer, or baseball), STEAM, dance, art, theater or academics. These camps offer specialized instruction and programming designed to immerse campers in their chosen activity while also enjoying typical camp experiences like socialization, outdoor fun, and personal growth. Camps Cancellation Policy: We understand your summer plans can change. The City of Dublin makes firm financial commitments to camp staff, field trips and program supplies for all our camps. Outside of priority registration, all camps canceled before May 16, 2025, are refunded in full minus a $50.00, non-refundable fee per week per child. Cancellations made after May 16 do not receive a refund. This policy applies to all camps, including both day camps and specialty camps. Transfer requests must be made by May 16 to be accepted. Online Health Care Form System: CAMPSITE Participants enrolled in any Preschool, Youth or Teen Specialty Camp must have a current (2025) online Health Care Form completed NO LATER THAN 7 days prior to the start of your child’s Specialty Camp. New Families: An online campsite account will be set up for you in the weeks after you have registered for one of our camps. Parents are emailed directions and supporting documents for completing the forms from services@mail.campsite-mail.com. Returning Families: Please log in to your Campsite account and review/update your child’s health care form. It is mandatory to reflect a 2025 completion date on your forms. Special Accommodations Requests : Recreation Services promotes an inclusive policy for all our programs. To discuss program options to best suit your child’s needs or interests, please contact Meaghan Campbell, Adaptive Recreation Coordinator, at mmcampbell@dublin.oh.us for an inquiry of needs to form an accommodation plan. An accommodation plan could carry over IEP/504 accommodations and must be completed prior to the start of the program. Please allow for a 7-day accommodation request window to facilitate this process effectively.

Cooking Camp Young Chefs Academy Staff

Young Chefs Academy Gahanna is a fun and interactive culinary school where kids discover the joys of cooking! Young chefs dive into hands-on cooking and baking, creating delicious tastings while learning essential culinary skills. Participants gain experience in reading and following recipes, meal prepping, and mastering

kitchen techniques like measuring, chopping and mixing. This camp also introduces important food safety practices, such as

proper handling and storage, making it a great opportunity for kids to develop life-long cooking skills. Both camp sessions feature similar content, so participants who sign up for both sessions experience much of the same curriculum. To avoid repetition, we recommend registering for only one session if you are looking for new recipes and skills. Please note: Due to the nature of the program, we cannot guarantee the absence of allergens like nuts, gluten and dairy in the kitchen. We recommend that parents of children with allergies contact a member of the Preschool, Youth & Teen Program Team prior to registration for more information.
