Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art that incorporates self-defense moves, hand techniques, and a variety of kicks. Ji Do Kwon is one of the oldest forms of Tae Kwon Do, dating back 2000 years. Traditional Ji Do Kwon training focuses on discipline through formal practice in a non-contact format. Ji Do Kwon Tae Kwon Do includes kicking, punching, striking, blocking and formal patterns called forms. Training is continuous from white belt through black belt rank. Martial artists learn discipline and respect while they are exercising, having fun and making new friends. Students progress to increasing belt levels at their own pace. When ready, they have the opportunity to participate in promotional tests (for an additional fee) to increase their rank and qualify to learn advanced techniques. Uniforms are available for purchase from the instructor at an additional cost for interested families. Please note that the uniform purchase is separate from DCRC program registration. The instructor provides full details and pricing during the first class. Due to the age of participants, parents/guardians must remain on-site for bathroom breaks, behavioral interventions or additional assistance. Sound Meditation Vandana Rajagopal

Sound Meditation uses soothing, harmonic sounds from instruments like singing bowls, gongs and chimes to guide you into a deep state of relaxation. It is an incredibly powerful way to reduce stress, calm the mind and promote overall well-being. The vibrations from the sounds help to relax the nervous system, easing tension and stress. The meditative state achieved can improve mental clarity and concentration, allowing your mind and body to rest deeply. The sound waves work on a vibrational level to align and balance your body’s energy. To make yourself comfortable, feel free to bring along a mat, blanket, or any props that will help you settle in. You can choose to sit or lie down—whatever feels best. If you prefer a chair due to any physical needs one will be provided for you.
