It’s going to be a fun time, for sure.” Captain O’Connor said he’s honoured to represent Rockland at the all-star event. “I owe this to my teammates, we are all sharing this together,” said the Rockland captain. “It’s great to be recognized like this and having coach there with us.” The all-star teams played in a tournament- style event with semifinal and championship games. The prospects played in a showcase style event. Games used a modified two-period format and Hockey Canada rules. The Battle of Ontario was first held in Pembroke in 2009 featuring teams of ‘Young Stars’ and ‘All-Stars’ from the CCHL and the Central Junior Hockey League, which was a division within the OJHL. faced, earning the win in goal for Rockland. With just under five minutes to go in regulation, Danel Myloserdnyy buried his seventh goal of the year and the eventual game winner, giving Rockland the 4-3 win. Nats sign James Marshall The Rockland Nationals also announced the signing of James Marshall last week who comes to Rockland after spending the first part of the season with the Nanaimo Clippers of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). Prior to his time in the BCHL, Marshall was a standout with the South Kent Selects Academy, where he scored 22 goals, 38 assists for 60 points in 58 games and was a highly sought-after prospect. Up next Rockland are looking to keep the winning ways going when they travel to Cornwall to take on the Colts Thursday night, Nov. 21.
The Rockland Nationals were well represented when the best players in the league gathered earlier this week in Smiths Falls. The Central Canada Hockey league (CCHL) announced the rosters for the Battle of Onta- rio Young Guns and All-Star games, which took place on Nov. 19 and 20 and featured the top players from the CCHL and Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL). Six Rockland Nationals players were selected for the all-star event to represent the Yzerman Division, while two Nats players played in the annual Young Guns game. Nats forwards Alex Kelloway, Josh O’Connor, Gabriel Houillier and Anthony Hall join defenceman Mathys Laurent and goaltender Benoit Forget as Yzerman Division all-stars, while forward Zachary Venance and defenceman Nolan Turbull were named to the Yzerman Division’s 2024 Young Guns squad. Justin Pereira, head coach of the Rockland Nationals, was named the Yzerman Division’s bench boss. “It will be fun to decompress and have a chance to coach a talented group of guys,” said Pereira. “We are definitely honoured to represent Rockland at the event, and the

The Rockland Nationals are rolling. The best team in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) added two more wins last week and remain atop the CCHL standings. The Nats now boast a record of 18 wins, one regulation loss, one overtime loss and no shootout losses, good for 37 points. Rockland is 10 points ahead of the Hawkesbury Hawks, who sit second place in the Yzerman Division. The Carleton Place Canadians are the top team in the CCHL’s Robinson Division with 25 points. Rockland has scored a league best 94 goals and have allowed a league low of just 44. Dominant win over Renfrew The Nats welcomed the Renfrew Wolves for a home-ice matchup on Friday, Nov. 15. Gabriel Le Houillier scored twice, his 10th and 11th goals of the season, leading the way for Rockland in a convincing 5-1 over the visiting Wolves. Remy Spooner, Mathis Baril and Guil- laume Labre scored Rockland’s other goals. Sean Hogan stopped 14 of 15 shots he
