Qualifications/Education/Training

• Experience of working in the Higher Education Sector. (Desirable) • Experience of sourcing and contract management of corporate categories such as IT, HR, Legal Services. (Desirable) • Experience of sustainable procurement across a range of products. (Desirable) • Good working knowledge of procurement processes in the Private Sector. (Desirable) • Detailed knowledge of UK Public Procurement Regulations (Desirable)

• Significant experience and use of procurement systems. (Essential) • Strong working knowledge of procurement processes in the Public Sector. (Essential) • Experience of implementing/working under category management- based approaches. (Essential) • Experience of tendering and managing high value contracts under UK Public Procurement Regulations , including contracts which exceed £1m. (Essential) • Experience of implementing best practice contract and supplier management. (Essential) • Proven track record of working in an environment with complex customer needs. (Essential) • Evidence of the ability to influence and win the trust of senior management in a complex and functionally devolved organisation. (Essential) • Experience of leading and developing staff within a procurement environment. (Essential) • Significant recent experience of procurement at a senior professional/ strategic level. (Essential)

• Qualified procurement professional (MCIPS). (Essential)

• IT qualification, for example ECDL, CLAIT.(Desirable)
