Have You Noticed? IT’S GETTING COOLER.

So along come October and November, and with them, the prospect of cooler temperatures and less humidity. For many (this writer included), it’s one of my favorite times of year.

there’s an attitude to Lee County today that’s a lot like electricity. You can’t see it but, watch out, you sure can feel it. We may not be big city yet (which we may never be nor want to be), but we’re in no way a ghost town anymore. We’re growing up, hip and cool in so many ways — making us an even cooler place to live, work and play, as individuals or families or yes, even companies — as this month’s articles on the amazing Marcus Jansen, the awesome downtown “Walks” and the interactive, evolving Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge all demonstrate. Can flip flops, shorts and t-shirts coexist in peace and harmony with designer fashions, stretch limos and buzzworthy nights out? I say yes — and how cool would that be?

But I’m not talking meteorologically with that headline — I’m talking lifestyle and quality of life here in Southwest Florida. Certainly over the past five years and with greater momentum as

the economy has turned, Southwest Florida—from downtown revitalization to suburban shopping malls, performing arts companies to higher profile artists and acts who tour here, exciting clubs and craft breweries to hot, crazy fun and entertaining dining — is smack in the middle of a rolling wake of cool.
