The Responsible Specifier Vol 1. - ForestOne

The neutral tones of EGGER’s Natural Kendal Oak are used in the joinery. At far right, MEGANITE® Verde Terrazzo makes a striking benchtop feature.

Offering short-term, flexible and technology-driven spaces, Workrooms Broadbeach builds on the ethos explored at existing Workrooms locations in Sydney and Melbourne. As interior designer Melanie Johnson explains, “the brief called for a bespoke, elevated design that connected to the unique location and, in turn, its end users. Drawing inspiration from the coastal aesthetic, the design language seamlessly blends muted tones with natural materials, creating a harmonious balance between the professional environment and the relaxed informality of the coast.” With materiality central to cultivating the desired design language, Gray Puksand turned to ForestOne for its unrivalled selection of warm timbers, neutral finishes and subtle textures. Recommending both EGGER and MEGANITE® products in the specification process, Forest- One demonstrated an “unwavering commitment to pro- viding authentic knowledge and assistance, regardless of project calibre or complexity,” says Melanie. “They also understand the advantage of having access to larger sam- ples and in situ project photography, as it plays a vital role in curating a strong language of finishes and materials.”

Gray Puksand found the depth and detail of EGGER’s Natural Kendal Oak wood décor elevated its original design to better fit the natural landscape and location of Workrooms Broadbeach. “The warm tones of these prod- ucts allow them to be seamlessly integrated amongst other materials and finishes, striking a perfect balance between contrast and unity,” says Melanie. Likewise, MEGANITE®’s Verde Terrazzo introduces softness and detail to the high-traffic spaces. As Melanie explains, “the selection of MEGANITE® was driven by its exceptional durability, ease of maintenance and minimal environmen- tal impact, making it a standout option for our design.” With the help of ForestOne, Gray Puksand has deliv- ered a new Workrooms space that exudes the vibrancy of coastal living alongside a high level of amenity. “The design process can be lengthy and time-consuming, so having a confident specification team that eliminates the guesswork allows us to focus on other critical design aspects,” Melanie notes. With abundant natural light and benefiting from generous ocean views, Workrooms Broadbeach presents teams and individuals with a unique and harmonious working opportunity.
