THE

Slime! Sublime Science

EXPERIMENTATION Year 1 had a fantastic Science day! The day ‘kicked off ’ with a gross investigation to fi nd out where the dirtiest place in our classroom was. We used a slice of bread to wipe the area and we will then observe over time which slice of bread becomes the mouldiest. As the day continued, the excitement continued! We began creating different experiments which consisted of making lava lamps, helicopters and creating colour changes. We saved the best ‘till last and investigated the effects of air, as we watched rockets fl y into the sky and listened to how air travels through objects to create different sounds. To top off a fun- fi lled day we made slime! Thanks to Miss Gill for the story. FORE! On Thursday 23rd January, Year 3 & 4 had the opportunity to represent their 'Houses' in a Tri- Golf competition day. Each class took part in a variety of golf activities and worked hard to score as many points for their house as possible. For many, it was something new that they had never tried before. Some had previously taken part in a golf after-school club and a handful had made use of our local golf club at Warley Woods. All of the children really enjoyed the golf, being active and competing with their friends. The competition was run by Year 6 leaders who helped organise the activities and keep score through out the day. They were very enthusiastic and great at helping the year 3 & 4 children improve their skills. A fantastic day all round! Winning houses: Y3 - Morris and in Y4 - Jordan
