From the desk of Dr. Cathy Beck,

Editor’s note: The People Who Pledge Allegiance to the U.S. Constitution - Patriotism among American immigrants is uniquely linked to the country’s founding document. At the end of the naturalization* process, all immigrants are required to take a public oath of allegiance—not to the president, or even to the United States per se, but to the CONSTITUTION. It’s an act few native-born Americans ever consciously perform: publicly and patriotically affirming the nation’s founding charter. Director of CC Schools Dear Students, Welcome back! We are so delighted to see each of you! We have spent all summer preparing for an extraordinary year for you. Custodians have been busy making the halls shiny. Painters have put fresh coats of paint on the walls. Teachers have been busy learning new curriculum and preparing dynamic lessons. Cafeteria staff has been creating new recipes to cook. Bus drivers have been learning new routes. Principals have been working on everything from schedules to staffing to ensure you have the most amazing educational experience. We love school and we want you to love school too! Have a fantastic year! Welcome back! Always, Dr. Beck * Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is granted to a lawful permanent resident after meeting the requirements established by Congress in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). source: https://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/learn-about-citizenship/citizenship-and-naturalization
