" The seeds for “Forest Floor” were sown more than 2 years ago when the restrictions of the pandemic led us to take regular walks in the woods. We immediately recognized a shared fascination with all the details of forest life. Nature provides an endless source of inspiration, and we began collaborating with various ways to incorporate this love of nature into artistic ventures. Along the way, we discovered the possibilities for recreating natural forms using a range of media, experimenting with botanical dyes, needle felting, fabric sculpture, and handmade paper among others. “Forest Floor” took root and began to grow. And grow it did, until it became a series of textile sculptures depicting the flora and the fauna we had come to know firsthand in our many walks. Our goal was to try and capture the magic we had experienced and share it with others, and to create art pieces inspired by nature and crafted entirely by hand."
