TOUGH YEAR? THE BEST WAY TO PREPARE FOR 2021 Congratulations, friends! 2020 is a year we all wanted to be over — now it finally is. But as we navigate our post-holiday season with the normalcy of secret gift returns and extra leftovers, we might be asking ourselves: When are we going to see the level of normalcy we had pre-pandemic? THE RETURN TO NORMALCY — BY AN OPEN MINDSET

workout routine I’ve never had before. In the initial weeks of the pandemic, I was very disturbed by what was on the news (which is why I advised, a few months ago, that we should all watch the news a little less!) and I sat on the sofa all day, just trying to wrap my head around it. Thankfully, I recognized the effect it was having on me and knew things needed to change. I’m used to waking up at 6 a.m. every morning to walk the dog, but to keep myself on track, that

As of this writing, it doesn’t seem that COVID-19 will be less rampant (both in the physical world and

on the news) by the time 2021 arrives. But when it comes to normalcy for this time of year, we should hold on to one thing stronger than ever: the spirit of the New Year’s resolution. Even though the economic and health malaise in our country may remain, we don’t have to give up our entire season of renewal, rebirth, and optimism. Most importantly, we should hold onto our gratitude for the year past. Even if nothing else changes, a desire for optimism and

wasn’t really enough exercise. Now, I wake up at a quarter to 5 a.m. to start my day with some exercise before my daily walk. It’s been a huge boost to my health and my mental well-being. Without 2020, I’m not sure how that change would have come about.

Many other notable changes to our country through 2020 aren’t necessarily bad. With the vaccine on the way, we can hope that the pandemic

gratitude can welcome a change of mindset and a “reset” of spirit. By accepting how we’ve evolved over the past year and creating new goals for the year to come, we can set a new mental standard for “normalcy” and feel a bit more peace with the times today. Everyone’s experience of 2020 has been a little different, but we should take a moment to reflect on all of its positive changes. In my own realm, the past year has brought huge and positive shifts to my business and the legal field as a whole. A certain comfort level with technology and virtual meetings is now ubiquitous where it wasn’t before. This has positively shaped how we plan to achieve my March to a Million goal. Now, my team and I can reach out to people from anywhere across the country with greater ease and feel as though they’re as accessible as if they were sitting across the table from us.

will dissipate during this fresh new year. Also, our housing landscape may change yet again. After the 2008 crash, people started moving into urban areas to have more opportunities to work. Now, in 2020 and into 2021, people are moving away from urban areas for various reasons such as cheaper housing options and urban unrest. This may bring some profound changes to our economic and political landscape. In any case, I hope you’re as eager as I am to make lemonade out of 2020’s lemons. As Americans in the pursuit of happiness, we might not have any other choice — but an optimistic mindset is kind of our specialty, isn’t it?

And, on a much more personal note, I can say I have a sharper focus on my health, business, and clients because I’ve started a

Greg DuPont and his associates put their heads together with the detective to investigate the intriguing possibilities of the cut-open window screen on the conference room window. Finding

evidence that someone climbed out the window after Benjamin Todd found the body would likely put their veteran friend in the clear. A little slice of sunshine on a cloudy day, one might say, but what none of them see coming is a nasty surprise in the vacant office above Williams Title Agency. CAN BEING PHYSICALLY ACTIVE SAVE YOU MONEY?

People say it all the time: You’re wealthy as long as you have your health. But, unlike money, there’s certainly a “use it or lose it” philosophy that applies to our physical fitness and strength. If we don’t regularly use our muscles, they tend to diminish. Thankfully, we can build our strength and our finances at the same time: walking 30 minutes five days a week. We’re serious! That’s all it takes. According to a study from the Journal of American Heart Association, exercise can save people nearly $500–$2,500 a year in the form of medical bills, meaning people who exercise regularly spend less than nonexercisers at the doctor each year. The findings were revealed from an analysis of more than 26,000 people, including those who worked out regularly

and those who didn’t, and their medical records. Researchers found that regularly exercising people spent less on everything from prescription drugs to ER visits and hospitalizations. The most impressive savings? People who were diagnosed with heart disease or had multiple risk factors, such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol, yet exercised regularly, still spent less. These fit, yet at-risk, patients doled out nearly $2,500 less a year than less-active people with similar issues. Yet, even people who didn’t have cardiovascular disease or had, at most, one risk factor saved around $500 a year compared to those with similar health profiles and didn’t exercise as often.

and spending less on medical bills — not that one thing causes the other. However, it does sync with previous research, including a study published by The Lancet journal, which estimated that people who don’t exercise cost the U.S. economy nearly $28 billion every year, both in medical bills and lost productivity. So, if you’d like to sneak in some extra savings this year, don’t forget to exercise! A healthy lifestyle is definitely efficient in the long run, for both your enjoyment of life and your wallet. From everyone at DuPont Wealth Solutions, we wish you a happy, healthy New Year!

It’s important to note that the study only shows a correlation between working out

The Best Airports to Get Stuck In PAGE 4

3 COOL AIRPORTS THATWILL LEAVEYOU BEGGING FOR A LAYOVER

While travel has been down over the past year, people still have places to be and things to do all over the world. Air travel is still very much alive, and many carriers have adapted to the global situation. While travel numbers may be down, one thing hasn’t changed: Countless travelers still find themselves trapped in airports for hours on end waiting for their next flight. But not every layover is something to bemoan. Take a look at these three airports worth getting stuck in. INCHEON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (ICN) About a 30-minute drive from Seoul, South Korea, ICN has become something of a cultural hub for the nation. If you’re on a long layover, it’s remarkably easy to hop over to Seoul, but if you have a short layover, don’t worry. ICN brings Seoul to you! While you wait for your flight, you can immerse yourself in the local culture by attending a performance or K-pop concert or visiting a museum. If it’s physical activity you’re looking for, play a round of golf at the golf course or go ice skating at the rink! DUBAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (DXB) This airport is one of the biggest and busiest in the world, but it is also one of the most spacious. Many travelers remark upon how open and airy DXB feels. But what really sets this airport apart are

the amenities. In short, this place knows rest and relaxation, and they do it in utmost luxury. You’ll find spas, gyms, swimming pools, zen gardens, and more. It also boasts the fastest, most reliable Wi‑Fi in the world. SINGAPORE CHANGI AIRPORT (SIN) This airport is packed with restaurants and shops. You’ll find something for every appetite, as SIN offers cuisines from all over the world in one place. But as impressive as the restaurant selection may be, the crown jewel of the airport is the indoor jungle. Here, you’ll find the world’s largest indoor waterfall surrounded by a lush forest. Behold and explore this unique site while you wait for your next flight.
