Schwartz Rounds- a healing forum facilitated by Jacobi staff and provided for all Jacobi staff with open dialogues around a patient or staff event that may have potentially made staff feel emotionally vulnerable. Emotional reflections are supported and encouraged as this is the intention of our conversations. APEX Rewards and Recognition program - Created and driven by staff, this program has captured the hearts of leaders and staff across the campus! Based on 3 tiers of Bronze, Silver, and Gold, staff may be recognized by any staff member and receive a buck, which can be redeemed from one of our pop-up APEX Swag Shoppe events. Intended to recognize staff who rock at what they do and beyond, our committee will look to possibly incentivize wellness programming, performance improvement projects, and other areas where growth is targeted. The H3 (Helping Healers Heal) program remains steady and strong with progress and growth! Our newly hired Wellness Program Director Lara Mc Davit, LCSW has joined Care Experience to help expand our H3 programming and continue outreach efforts to staff experiencing compassion fatigue, stress, and burnout. Our continued Music, arts, dance, exercise, and relaxation/meditation activities will offer staff additional ways to inspire joy and promote healing. Our H3 members will continue to collaborate with facilities and department leads on creating more healing spaces for staff who are not often able to leave their workspaces due to the needs of our patients. In collaboration with our Wellness committee, members will be looking more closely at the unique needs of the many different department teams and activities that may arise from the discussion s. Stand Up to Violence (SUV) Peace Walk- Starting as the first hospital-based gun violence prevention program in New State, its members address gun violence occurring in our local community consisting of credible messengers, Social Workers, and Behavioral Health professionals. This vital program continues to save countless lives and includes youth mentoring for those at risk of violence in their neighborhoods. This wonderful program is a lifesaver for many and is at the core of what it means to reach out and help our community. Night Out Against Crime- Peaceful walk with participating Jacobi leaders, staff, and NYPD that build on community partnership and promote safety. Back-to-school event- a popular program for all visitors at Jacobi with music and activities for all! Musical Magic-a fun event for patients, families, and staff in partnership with Ronald McDonald House. Many giveaways are to be had by all who attend. CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY
