All School Handbook 2025_2026

Dress Code Please dress your child appropriately for a day of work and play. Activities may be messy at times. Clothing should be comfortable and easily managed by the child in order to encourage independence and self-help skills. An extra set of labeled clothing, including socks, should be brought to the classroom at the beginning of the school year. Please change the extra set of clothing according to the season. All EC students must wear sneakers each day to protect their feet, support their ankles, and provide them with comfort for gross motor activities. We ask all EC parents to dress their child for the weather and encourage raincoats, winter coats, hats, and gloves as needed. LOST AND FOUND Lost clothing is brought to the office throughout the year. Please label your child’s clothing so that it may be returned. If you are unable to locate an article of clothing, check the lost and found box at the EC lobby. Educare and Extended Day Educare is a specialty after-school class program offered at Levine. Examples include ballet, art, sports, and more. Educare Activities are offered for the Three children from 1:00-2:00PM and Pre-Kindergarten children 2:00-3:00 P.M. – depending on release time. Any threes/prek students enrolled in aftercare will receive educare classes at no extra charge. The Educare class schedules and registration can be found In the Veracross portal during the summer. Morning Care/Late Care is available from 7:45-8:45 A.M. in the morning and from 12:45-6:00 P.M. in the afternoon (5:00 P.M. on Fridays). Rest periods will vary depending on the age of the student. Carpools are offered at 2:00, 3:00, and 3:30 P.M. There is no late care on "early release days." Field / Class Trips During the year, children in the three-year-old and Pre-Kindergarten clusters may participate in a field trip. To meet the regulations of Texas Health and Human Services, our licensing agency, class field trips are taken with parent drivers only and with the written consent of parents. Each child will be in a car seat or booster seat and seat belted. Parents must leave their child’s car or booster seat for transportation purposes. (Please label your car seat). The EC does not keep any car/booster seats at the school for emergencies. No child will be transported in the front seat of vehicles with or without an airbag. Every precaution will be taken to ensure the health and safety of the children. Every parent driver must present a copy of their license and proof of insurance. Lunches and Snacks Each school day, the children at Levine Academy’s Early Childhood enjoy a morning snack together. Snack time, even though snacks are simple, is an integral part of the total school experience, providing many opportunities to enhance the education and social skills of our children. Each family will be responsible for their own child’s snack. Parents must provide a water bottle each day for their child to use at school. Water will be refilled throughout the day. We will still provide water to drink and challah and grape juice on Fridays. Snacks should be sent in a separate container marked with the word “snack”. Levine Academy maintains a standard of Kashrut that is inclusive of all families as outlined on pages 18-20 above. In addition, the EC has adopted a nut-free policy to safeguard the health of our children. Baked items must be labeled nut-free and Kosher. Parents must provide a water bottle each day for their child to use at school. Water will be refilled throughout the day.
