Community Service Based on the concept of Tikkun Olam, "repairing our world," students participate in acts of tzedakah and gemilut hasadim (social action). When one goes beyond the obligation of mitzvah, we not only help others, but we also benefit from the good feelings we get. Community service and the practice of mitzvot are woven into every curriculum, starting in Early Childhood. LOWER SCHOOL: TIKKUN OLAM Beck Lower School students do not have individual community service requirements and as a class will determine a project to fulfill the mitzvah of Tikkun Olam. Room parents will coordinate this project with the classroom/homeroom teachers. MIDDLE SCHOOL: TIKKUN OLAM Middle School students are required to perform a minimum of 10 hours of community service each year. Students must turn in a minimum of 5 completed hours at the end of the first trimester and another 5 at the completion of the second trimester. o Additional hours are recognized at the Middle School Awards Assembly. o Students choose their own service projects and, in the past, have collected food, books, toys, B'NAI MITZVAH FUND A B'nai Mitzvah Philanthropic Program allows Levine Academy students entering the Bar/Bat Mitzvah years to contribute voluntarily to a special fund established by their class. This fund offers a meaningful alternative to the customary exchange of Bar/Bat Mitzvah gifts among students. Instead of traditional gifts, families are invited to make a contribution to this fund in honor of special occasions or in memory of loved ones. This initiative not only fosters a culture of giving but also reinforces the values we hold dear as a community. Over time, the fund will grow, and at bicycles, cell phones, diapers, blankets and clothes for those in need. o Students will complete a form to receive credit for their service hours. the culmination of their 8th grade year, the class will decide which charitable organization will receive the distribution of the funds. Contributions can be conveniently made online by selecting the Mitzvah Fund from the dropdown menu "my donation is for" or by sending a check directly to the school.

Dress Code & Uniform Policy KINDERGARTEN – EIGHTH GRADE

Students are required to arrive at school properly attired. Clothing should be clean, neat, and well fitting. The uniform is expected to be in good repair with no writing or tears. All boys are required to arrive at school with a legitimate kippah. Students are expected to have a neat, orderly appearance. Hair color must be a naturally occurring color. Levine Academy reserves the right to determine if hairstyles are appropriate.
