Bi-Annual H1 Bulletin 2025

FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY

MESSAGE FROM THE CEO

Dear Team,

The first half of 2025 has been a remarkable chapter in our BASS journey. I’m proud to share how far we’ve come—and more importantly, the strong foundation we’re building for the future. BASSnet Web 3.0 is now live , representing a pivotal shift to a next-gen, cloud-native, SaaS-based solution. With powerful features like AI-driven automation, intuitive UI, and robust security, we’ve set a new benchmark for maritime software. Customer feedback—whether at global forums or in direct engagements—has been overwhelmingly positive, reaffirming our direction and the value we deliver. At the same time, we’ve maintained strong momentum across BASSnet 2.11 SP3, successfully managing critical upgrades, migrations, and support for major customers. Our ‘co-exist’ strategy has enabled a smooth transition to Web 3.0, while our conversion services have set us apart, as seen in the Zeaborn and PIL projects. Innovation remains central to our progress. From enhanced BI dashboards to the launch of Crew Portal 1.3, new mobile app features, and the upcoming Web 3.1 release—our product teams are solving real-world challenges and keeping us ahead of the curve.

Per Steinar Upsaker CEO & Managing Director

Notably, we welcomed Stenersen and Equinox as SaaS customers, each with complex needs that we’ve met through close collaboration and cutting-edge tech. Our SaaS footprint continues to expand, supported by our 24/7 service engineer team and a strengthened focus on cloud security. I’m equally proud of the human side of our growth. With a team of 240 strong, we’ve seen an influx of talented new colleagues, all contributing to our shared vision. Together, we’ve fostered a culture that blends the agility of a startup with the capability of a global company.

Let’s keep this spirit alive as we push into the second half of the year—curious, customer-focused, and courageous in our ambitions.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication.

“ Seafarer Workforce Report [2021] from BIMCO and the International Chamber of Shipping warns that the industry must significantly increase training and recruitment levels if it is to avoid a serious shortage in the total supply of officers by 2026.” - ‘New BIMCO/ICS Seafarer Workforce Report warns of serious potential officer shortage’ by International Chamber of Shipping The maritime industry is facing a growing crew shortage, with officer supply failing to keep up with demand. High crew turnover, lack of data on crew attrition, and inefficient workforce planning can drive operational risks and rising costs. RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

BASSnet Web 3.x

New 3.x main screen design There will be a change in the main screen of BASSnet Web 3.0 — the left-hand toolbar and related sub-menus will be gone. Instead, we will leverage on the favourites concept where users can choose their own in a new sub-module screen where features can be searched or launched, and pinned to the favorites widget. Column Sorting / Filters / Dynamic page size options Filter options are now applied in most overview screens showing as side-panels where you can combine multiple filters in one go. A new approach to column sorting is being applied in all overview screens. A dropdown option next to the filter button allows users to select which column to sort by in an ascending or descending manner. ‘Overview’ screens get the option to increase page sizes dynamically, usually from 10 to 100, although some screens may offer larger options. Reports / Data Export Transaction modules are now getting equipped with various options to export data, such as export grid-rows to Excel and individual records to Excel or PDF reports. New forms module A new forms composer is being developed. This will supersede the earlier Excel forms concept in 2.11 and allow users to compose HTML forms from a palette of controls they can drag and drop into a canvas. New About Screen and Versioning In ‘Manage Profile’, a very detailed ‘About Screen’ will show all web service versions that are deployed for easy troubleshooting.

New Scheduler Available A new scheduler for BASSnet Web has been developed to support various scheduling tasks.

Updating Web Services to Latest .NET All web services are being updated to the very latest .NET edition, i.e. version 9.

Global Site Filtering This feature offers customers the ability to select a group of sites that they want to work on. Technical architecture is established and implementation will begin. Do note that it will have a rather large footprint since it affects many web-service endpoints as well as the front-end UI, which will need a new screen and display for each user to manage and apply such filtering groups. This is a feature that will need some time to be developed and mature, and a full version may not be available until BASSnet Web 3.1.

13

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

Streamlined Deployment Established a way of packaging a re-usable deployment image for the Web UI. This means that in a multi-tenant context, we can re-use the same image but target different customers by just applying different configurations. BASSnet Web 3.0 This version is mostly in defect fixing mode although there is still some report development across a few modules. BASSnet Web 3.0.1 The focus for this version will primarily be Lessons Learned and Self-Assessment, but also some enhancements for Document Manager. For Lessons Learned, we will apply AI to make event summaries as well as suggest new lessons learned from events captured data. BASSnet Web 3.1 Development is ongoing across the major modules Maintenance, Procurement, Projects and Materials. Some of these modules will also have changes in the schema – especially Procurement – to make data entities nimbler and better reflect the transaction types. It is important to note that version 3.1 will have breaking changes in the schema compared to 2.11 and can no longer co-exist with the old version. BASSnet Replicator A new and radically different approach to performing data replication is in development. This approach will no longer blindly run a set of replication scripts regardless of data changes but use a new method to detect tables that have changes since last replication and target only those. It should have the potential to significantly improve performance. BASSnet Financials This module has undergone many iterations of not just functional enhancements, but also performance improvements with the latest being 3.2 SP2 HF4. The team is now planning version 3.3 which is going to be compatible with BASSnet Web 3.1. One quite significant change on the drawing board is the removal of the current layer between financials (both external and internal) and Procurement (POTOACC) in order to streamline this important interface. An important objective with Procurement in 3.1 and Financials 3.3 is to offer 3-way matching which implies better tracking of PO Goods Received and related invoices.

14

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

BASSnet Desktop and HRM 2.11 These modules still continue to take up quite a bit of time for many development teams as change requests keep coming in from existing clientele. HF 8 is getting prepared for release. Interesting to note that the following amount of CR’s have been applied to 2.11 SP3 after its release: 2.11 SP3 Desktop: 203 CRs 2.11 SP3 HRM: 89 CRs BI Dashboard The work to migrate to Microsoft Fabric is ongoing – around half-way complete. The team is working on what is now renamed to Activity Board, meaning a real-time data dashboard. The team is also preparing UAT environment for our latest customer Stenersen in Norway. Mobile Apps The technical development platform has been migrated from Xamarin to MAUI, since Xamarin will be de-supported by August this year. Releasing new Safety and Quality apps on this platform end of March and Inventory end of May.
