s spring arrives and we thankfully say goodbye to winter, the Southern New Jersey Chapter of the Apprasial Institute is pleased to offer many quality hours of education. First, on April 14, we will hold our annual appraisers/ assessors dinner meeting/semi- nar. The first portion of the event, The State of the Industry, features the following speakers: Fred Berlinsky of Markeim-Chalmers (office), Marc Policarpo of Binswanger (industrial), Bruce Paparone (residential) and Steve DePetris of Legend Properties (retail). In this seminar, par- ticipants will hear from actual market participants about the current status, issues, and future predictions of the residential, retail, office and industrial markets. Following each presentation participants will be able to ask questions and get valuable input from those on the front line every day. After dinner, Judge Patrick DeAlmeida of the New Jersey Tax Court will discuss tax court issues & recent cases from across the state. His insight and experience will be a great benefit to all. On May 12 & 13, we will present the 11th annual Seminars at the Shore. On Tuesday, we present Hot Topics in Appraising Today. We have assembled an amazing line-up to present 7 jam-packed hours of education! Brodowski, MAI, ASA, CTA On the second day of Seminars at the Shore, we will offer 2 seminars (4 hours each), both pre- sented by chapter favorite Val Pasquarella, Jr. SRA. In the morning, the brand new Appraisal Institute seminar makes its East Coast debut: Contract or Effective Rent: Finding the Real Rent. We held a new class, Supervisory Appraiser/Trainee Appraiser Course, to a full room inMarch. The instructor was our 2015 Chapter President, Edward T. Molinari, SRA. (Pictured.) As of January 1, 2015, all individuals who become Supervisory Appraisers and Trainee Appraisers are required to take a Supervisory/Trainee Course per the 2015 Real Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria.

This four-hour course addressed the national minimum requirements, responsibilities, and ex- pectations for Trainee Appraisers and Supervisory Appraisers that are included in the AQB’s required course outline.
