In Matthew 26:33 we read Peter's declaration, “ Though all men shall be offended because of Thee, yet will I never be offended." Verses 69-75 of this same chapter give us the sequel to his boast. He denied the Saviour even as Christ had prophesied. Peter was very indi­ vidualistic. There was no one quite like him. OUR PERSONALITY PROBLEMS There is one thing all of us have in common. No one can move through life without his share of many and varied problems. How thankful we should be for the promise of Cod in overcoming life's difficulties. As we consider

In Africa there was a tribal queen who had never seen a mirror. She was not an attractive person, but no one had told her, and she had no way of seeing herself. She had convinced herself that she pos­ sessed a rare beauty. This delusion of attractiveness continued until a foreign trader came to the village. In addition to his trinkets he had a bright and shining mirror. The queen insisted on possessing it. When she saw herself for the first time shock was followed by disbe­ lief. She angrily took the looking glass and smashed it to the ground. She warned the trader that he was to leave immediately and never come back again under threat of death.
