GOING SOCIAL AS A FAMILY Our team here at 3 Dimensional Wealth includes everyone from young parent to grandparents, and one way we all connect with our families is through social media! The Andrew family, for example, uses WhatsApp for a big family group chat including grandparents, grandkids, and everyone in between. Staying connected with family is important, and these days the youngest members of yours are probably on TikTok. With a bit of creativity, you can connect with your family by following in these influencers’ footsteps.
These Influencers Prove You Can Go Digital, Too!
Another “granddad” is following suit. @Grandadjoe1933 has more than 5 million followers, and his videos include numerous trends and duets. Grandad Joe’s videos also include candid and humorous expressions of grief over the death of his wife, recovery from a heart attack, and support for his granddaughter through eating disorder recovery. Lovingly profiling another phase of life, @charlesmallet was created for Charles Mallet by his granddaughter, Basia Mallet, as a way to help him cope with Alzheimer’s. Basia helps her grandfather create the videos for his channel, which has become known for dances, cooking videos, and sweet moments between grandfather and granddaughter. She says Charles’ memory is improving, and she credits the videos for helping supply a better quality of life for her grandfather. “He’s so much more vibrant about life. He’s been happy, smiling,” Basia told AARP. “His quality of life has just gotten better all over.”
For instance, there’s @Grandadfrankk , whose dances and obvious love for his wife has won over the hearts of nearly 7 million followers. Frank dances with his grandchildren, wife, and even “duets” videos with other stars, making his own dance moves to accompany videos of other people dancing. Throughout many of his videos, he adds a message of positivity and a new take on trends. Younger families like @thekabsfamily share their day-to-day antics with the world. With nearly 2 million followers on TikTok (and millions more on YouTube and Instagram), they’re an example of infusing regular life with fun and laughter. Funny daddy/daughter moments can also be found on @choungdo , where little Mavis’ interactions with her dad have garnered nearly 400,000 fans. The duo provides inspiration for making the most of the silly, wild, and endearing experiences of raising a family.
All this goes to show you can have fun coming together as a family on TikTok, capturing whatever it is that makes your family unique.

of your getaway, you’ll want to plan purposeful activities. Borrow from our family activities — some of which Doug describes in his book “Entitlement Abolition.” Be intentional about the values you share, touching on things like how to teach responsibility and accountability, how to avoid making serious mistakes during your lifetime, how to determine what matters most, and how to transform negative experiences in life into positive outcomes. • VACATE FROM THE ‘BUSY-NESS’ OF LIFE: Make your retreat a stress-free zone. Avoid the distractions of work, school, email, social media, etc. by encouraging time away from electronics so you can focus on the family. • LOAD UP ON FUN: These events are not just serious. We’ve done Family Retreats with a Purpose that include camping, fishing, hiking, biking, snorkeling, scuba diving, golfing, etc. The secret recipe is to not only make them significant but also fun!
