Winter can be magical. Falling snow, holiday movie nights, and amazing food are just the tip of the iceberg. The harsh Ellensburg weather may get you down at times, but OPR is here to keep the magic alive. Whether you’re a snow fanatic or prefer to stay warm indoors, OPR has treks, trips and clinics to keep you moving and having fun this season. OPR is a rental equipment shop at the Student Union and Recreation Center [SURC]. Outside of rentals, OPR hosts numerous trips and clinics to give students the opportunity for adventure, to learn something new, and become comfortable and confident in new experiences.
Staying Inside: So, maybe layering up and shredding powder isn’t your jam. That’s okay. OPR has indoor activities and clinics to keep you moving throughout the winter season. Climbing Wall: If you’ve ever been to the Recreation Center, you may have
noticed a climbing wall. Bouldering and top rope climbing is the perfect way to stay active while not having to worry about the cold weather. OPR offers clinics to all students, at any skill level. You won’t want to miss the Ropeless Rodeo, Central’s annual bouldering competition, on January 27. This event is open to all experience levels and an amazing way to meet fellow climbers from all around the PNW.
Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga: Want to enjoy an evening on the water but cold weather has you down? Find your zen at paddle board yoga in the CWU Aquatics Center. Give yourself time to relax this season; you deserve it.
