Along with the sunshine and warm weather, spring quarter brings the freedom to step outside and relax. If you’re new here or have never been shown the ropes, you might not know all the activities and spots the ‘Burg has to offer! Here at Hype, we’ve created a Spring bucket list of the things you must do while you’re still at CWU.

People’s Pond – AKA Irene Rinehart Riverfront Park

Visit Ellensburg’s not-so-secret oasis. Complete with volleyball courts, trails, and the occasional boat race, this is THE destination on a warm spring quarter day. For relaxing, bring a blanket, some sunscreen, and a book. For some fun in the sun, rent a paddleboard from OPR or use the rope swing and get some well-deserved vitamin D! Have a Cuddle with Archie the Dog When you’re on campus this spring, be on the lookout for Archie, our local K9! Archie loves visiting students at the SURC or at campus events, and is open to pets and cuddles! The feel-good pup has been crowned the best law enforcement officer of Kittitas County, and when you see him around, it won’t be hard to understand why!
