Spring Into Service When we were younger, Earth Day involved reading The Lorax , watching Friends for Change commercials on Disney Channel, and maybe even planting a tree with our second-grade class. As an adult, it might not seem like such a magical time now that we are old enough to be aware of the environmental damage rapidly affecting our home—but what if we could bring that magic back to life? Grab your work clothes and closed-toe shoes, Wildcats, get ready to make a change and spring into service this Earth Day! What is Spring Day Service? Spring Day of Service is a day when the CWU community teams up with the greater Ellensburg area to clean up and beautify the landscape around us. You will be amazed at how quickly we can make a difference in the communities surrounding CWU. This year, Spring Day of Service falls on Saturday, April 20. Why You Should Volunteer Not convinced yet? This is one of CWU’s biggest events where you can work alongside different clubs, teams, friends, departments, and organizations. This volunteer work does not feel like work when you are creating lifelong connections and friendships with the community around you. Don’t have a friend to go with you? No worries, come alone, and you’ll leave with a free t-shirt, new friends, and a cleaner planet— how much better can it get? The entire day will be spent making memories you will look back on every Earth Day moving forward. Everyone is welcome! If you are looking for an experience where you can walk away feeling like you are better connected to the Ellensburg community, and a true resident of Kittitas County, then this is the perfect Earth Day event for you. Spring Day of Service will have you walking away knowing you did something important and impactful for our planet. We can’t wait to see you there!
Buses depart to 10 different sites throughout Kittitas County.
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Participate in a variety of clean-up projects. 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Return to campus for a free lunch.
