Life change around the world. It all starts here.
From the desk of DON LOUGH, JR.
Word of Life BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Dear Friends,
Officers Dr. Donald H. Lough, Jr. President & CEO Mr. B. John Nelson
The Lifeline newsletter is one of the ways we share God’s victories and how He is using your financial partnership to further His work. Lifeline is also a way to share together through prayer. Would you join us in fervent prayer for our Ukraine missionary team… that God will give them peace and protection in these troubled times and that the Gospel will go forth as never before.

God is continuing to do great things around the world as well as here in America.
Recently I heard from a pastor who shared about a young lady who attended Snowcamp on our New York campus. She had attended Summer Camp and came to know the Lord. After her weekend at Snowcamp, she came home excited about sharing her faith and one of her friends, an atheist, noticed the difference. Now the friend wants to attend Summer Camp with her this year. That’s what the ministry of Word of Life is about . . . sharing the Gospel with youth and encouraging them to share their faith. That is life change! I pray as you read through these pages that you will be encouraged by the evangelistic and discipleship opportunities God is providing through the worldwide ministries of Word of Life.

Camps are full steam ahead once again! Despite 2 years of limitations, God still is changing lives at our camps.
“ “
The uncertainty of my future was something I held on tightly to this week. I’ve found certainty in Christ and His plans for me. I’ve decided to apply to Word of Life Bible Institute. I want to continue to know God’s Word and fall further into His ministry.
Isabella, The Coast
My favorite part about camp was making new friends and learning more about what Jesus has done for me. This week, I accepted Jesus into my life, and I realized I’m not living only for myself anymore.
Ana, Snowcamp
“ Thank you for giving me the chance to come and experience Word of Life. It has been a great experience, and God has touched me in ways I didn’t expect. I feel like I have taken the next step in my faith, and you gave me the oppurtunity.
Leroy, The Island
This year, Word of Life is celebrating 75 years of camping. It started on The Island where more than 300,000 young people have attended camp.
10,065 attended Camp in 2021 1,824 youth attended Snowcamp in New York 1,058 youth attended Pursuit Camp in Florida
Thank you for your support which makes this all possible!

THE SPOKEN WORD CHANGES LIVES
God calls me to be.” - THOMPSON AUGUSTE, WOLBI STUDENT
One of those students attending is Thompson Auguste. Thanks to the urging of his youth pastor’s wife, Thompson enrolled in the Bible Institute. A talented poet and video producer, his passion is to share the Word with this generation. Watch this video to learn more about Thompson’s journey and how he is using his talents to reach his generation with the Gospel message.
Watch Now
This year: 350
students are enrolled in the Bible Institute New York Campus 104 students are enrolled in the Bible Institute Florida Campus
Did you know that the Bible Institute is reaching young people like Thompson all around the world?
Here’s a few highlights from Bible Institutes around the world:
Brazil This is the second largest year of enrollment for the Bible Institute – 111 residential students are hungry to learn more of the Word!
Philippines Praise the Lord! The weekends are being filled up with our Bible Institute students partnering with local churches for in-person evangelism and discipleship!
Ukraine
While the world watches the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, Bible Institute students and recent graduates are helping with evacuations, translation, and serving the spiritual needs of those around them.
Here’s a recent story from a Ukraine Bible Institute 2021 graduate:
“
I remembered all the things I learned and heard at Word of Life and all the promises I made to Him. I remember how last summer, before we started camp, I threw a stick into the fire, symbolizing my promise to God that I want to “burn” for Jesus. This is my attitude now; I am ready to go in the fire. I understand that this is the place and now is the time for me to be here to work and to serve.
Thank you for supporting this generation’s pursuit of the Word of God at the Bible Institute!
NO RESTRICTIONS ON THE GOSPEL There is no place that the Gospel cannot penetrate. Word of Life missionaries span the globe, sharing the Gospel in 75+ countries around the globe.
Here’s some recent highlights:
- The first-ever Word of Life Youth Camp was held in a “restricted access” field in Southeast Asia. We praise the Lord that approximately 30 kids put their faith in Jesus on the first night, and around 20 have renewed their faith. On the second night, all of them stood up to commit to live for Christ.
“For the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.” 1 Corinthians 10:26
- Word of Life New Zealand ran seven youth night events across the country, and 23 young people responded to the Gospel!
Thank you for your support of the Gospel all around the world!
Do you have your estate documents in order? I wanted to take a moment to remind you of a service that Word of Life provides through a long-time partnership with PhilanthroCorp. They have been helping families all over the country with their will and estate planning needs for decades. Word of Life has arranged for the services of PhilanthroCorp to be provided to you without cost or obligation. Your only cost is the drafting of the documents to put your plan in place. If you don’t have an attorney, PhilanthroCorp can refer you to a Christian attorney in your area who will draft the documents. Your estate plans remain confidential, and, best of all, this can be done over the phone from the comfort of your own home! Call Bob Brown at the Word of Life Foundation - 518.222.8375. He will arrange a call from a PhilanthroCorp representative, and they will help you get this process started. You can also ask Bob about Charitable Gift Annuities, Donor-Advised Funds, giving through Life Insurance, and IRA Charitable Rollovers. Your family will be beyond grateful when the time comes to settle your estate.
“
It has been a blessing to be part of the Word of Life Fellowship ministry for many years. Because of this relationship, we have been encouraged from the start to be visionary-minded people. PhilanthroCorp simplified estate planning for us. First of all, this process helped us stop and think about all the blessings we’ve been given. We are stewards of this blessing, and PhilanthroCorp was just the tool to help us capture and develop our estate plan. Everyone on the team supported us and made this complicated project, simple. We have a plan in place and that is very satisfying. – THE DILLARD FAMILY
