Central Washington University Board of Trustees October 17, 2019 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY – Mission, Core Themes, and Strategic Planning
CWU is engaged in a review of the institutional mission and core themes and the development of divisional plans for Academic and Student Life, Business and Financial Affairs, Operations, the President’s Division, and Strategic Enrollment Management. This work will culminate in a comprehensive, university-wide strategic plan by June 2020. Divisional planning sessions are underway based on a strategic planning template and toolkit. Discussions about the mission and core themes continue through faculty- and staff-facilitated open forums and focus groups. University-wide surveys provide opportunities for all students, faculty, and staff to provide input and feedback. Next steps include discussions with the Board of Trustees, the Cabinet, the Faculty Senate, the Foundation Board, the Academic Department Chairs Organization (ADCO), the Graduate Council, the Exempt Employee Association, the Classified Staff Employee Council, the Associated Students of CWU (ASCWU), alumni, and other stakeholders.
