THE EXTENSION DEPARTMENT Geo. W. Hunter, Representative

TT'HE week, has been one of great oppor tunity. Prom 10 o’clock in the morning till 6 o’clock in the evening'' the booth of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, at the Panama-Pacific Exposition has had visitors from every State in the Union/ as well as from Australia, Hawaii, China, Japan, thè British Provinces,- and even Africa, Asia and the Islands of the Sea. Of the many thousands who call, one would scarcely expect to. find all responsive, but as a matter of fact, by far the largest proportion of them have either been inquir ers, or if indifferent at first, have become intensely interested before leaving, and It has been our privilege, to give them litera ture that would open to them the way of salvation—if unsaved—or, if already Chris tians, would show the .pjan of God -in the Book of Books in such a way as would en able them to pass the “glad tidings” on to others intelligently. Anti-ism literature, portions of Scripture in tract form, literature concerning the Bible Institute and Bible study courses have been distributed to a multitude. Between 200 and 300 Bible study leaflets -have been given out, and hours have been spent in explaining the teachings of the Book to people who"were as eager to hear as we were to explain. One hundred copies of Scofield’s “Rightly Di

viding the Word of Truth” were given away the first part of July, and we only regret that it was not possible for us to .supply the thousands who wanted them. The reason why the various “isms” are getting such a following is because Chris tians are not .being fed on the Bible mes sage, and are reaching out after that which will satisfy their hanger. The many cults represented in the Educational Building are giving away vast quantities of their book lets explaining their theories, while those of us who are frying.to give out the truth are handicapped by lack of sufficient funds to supply the-proper.literature. s We are praying that someone' will be stirred in soul to send several thousand copies of “Rightly Dividing the Word” for free distribution, and if the writer could have, a few moments conversation with' any one who is able to donate them, he could soon show the value of this particular book- in this particular place. It will stimulate a desire to know what the Bible teaches, and to seek a line of study that will give an in telligent grasp of the primary teachings of the whole Bible. In these days when most Bible study is of such a fragmentary nature, and so many- aré seeking and finding so lit tle to satisfy, this little Booklet, giving as it does in such small compass a grasp of the whole Book, meets a great need.
