Purpose of the Post The post holder will have a focus on Major and Minor projects, the role holder must ensure he or she has an overview across all project areas to ensure reliable delivery of projects that are fit for purpose, to the agreed quality standard, provide clear value for money, and remain controlled within authorised capital expenditure and project forecasts.

Roles and responsibilities
Planning and delivery of the estates projects portfolio: • Ensure all estates projects are planned and delivered, working closely with Faculty’s, Departments, and Estates Operations functions. • Provide regular progress and financial reports so that effective controls are in place and so enable well informed planning and decision making. • Contribute to the overall development of the College estate and represent the Estates Operations at internal committees and meetings. Leadership and management: • Lead the Estates Projects Delivery team, ensuring that it provides high-quality design and specification, value for money and a responsive service, within agreed programmes and budgets and using effective and efficient project management processes. • As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) contribute to the overall development of the Estates Operations division. • Ensure the College meets its Health and Safety obligations in all projects; to provide reports and seek remedies as appropriate where any deficiencies are identified. • Maintain personal development and encourage the development of the immediate team, recruiting additional staff to build on the existing team as required. Portfolio, Programme and Project Management: • Overall responsibility for the portfolio of estates projects and project finances and ensure that the Estate Projects Delivery team delivers within budget and programme. • Ensure comprehensive professional and technical co-operation within the Estate Operations SMT to deliver seamless project handover to operation. • Deliver new build and refurbishment construction projects from inception through to completion and hand over to operation, to agreed College technical and engineering standards. • Monthly reporting across all estates construction projects. • Managing critical dependencies across the estates portfolio of projects. • Ensure that common standards of performance, technical and materials specification and project management procedures are of a consistent and appropriate quality, and consider life cycle costs.
