INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: Future Leaders & Real Estate Management Internship

What was he most valuable thing you learned in the internship program? Have you applied what you learned to your life? The most valuable thing I learned during the internship program was the importance of my role. My decisions had real-world impacts on other people, and I had the opportunity to see and interact with those individuals every day. Realizing that my work truly affects others has changed the way I approach my responsibilities, I now take greater care and pay closer attention to detail, knowing my decisions impact more than just myself. I also learned how to balance empathy for residents with the need to run a property efficiently and maximize NOI; and in my case other metrics to prepare the building for a future sale. This helped me better understand the complexities of property management. What is your favorite memory from the internship? I was invited to a vendor golf outing with the management team and had a great time getting to know everyone and learning about their diverse backgrounds. The Chicago team is fantastic, they made me feel welcome and genuinely excited about the possibility of coming back to work for the company.
