By mid-summer, we had all settled into the pandemic. It started to feel like we had a handle on what was happening, and we had grown accustomed to the “new normal.” We had adapted to our new circumstances and almost everyone, it seemed, was plotting their journey on the road to recovery. Unforeseen were the speed bumps still before us — the result of everything from social unrest to tumultuous political battles.
