Parkview Pulse May 2025

MESSAGE FROM THE FAMILY COUNCIL

A WORD FROM OUR CHAPLAIN

T he Family Council continues to meet monthly to help enrich life at Parkview Home. This year, we are focusing on the second-floor balconies to make the most meaningful improvements with the resources we have. The sunny “rabbit” balcony will feature rearranged planters, long-lasting artificial greenery, and a new water feature—offering a vibrant, low-maintenance space for all to enjoy. The courtyard-facing balcony will bloom with colourful annuals in new raised self-watering planters. Existing planters will hold flowers, veggies, and climbing vines, with another water feature adding a peaceful touch. A heartfelt thank you to the Stouffville Lion’s Club for their generous $750 donation. We will be assembling and planting with residents on May 21 and 28. Looking ahead, we are planning a silent auction this November–December and welcome any leads for donations. Two of our members recently attended the Stouffville Prayer Breakfast and found it uplifting. To reach us, visit the Family Council board outside Oak Ridge—we would love to connect.

A s we journey through the beautiful months of April and May, we are reminded that spring is a season of renewal, growth, and hope. The earth awakens with blossoms, birdsong, and longer days, gently encouraging our spirits to do the same. In many faith traditions, spring symbolizes new beginnings and the promise of life. In Christianity, it follows Easter, a celebration of resurrection and hope. In Judaism, the season embraces Shavuot, a time of spiritual renewal and the giving of wisdom. In Islam, this time may include reflection after Ramadan, embracing gratitude and compassion. Hindu and Buddhist teachings also remind us of the cycles of life, growth, and inner peace. No matter your path, spring invites us all to pause, to breathe in the fresh air, and to find joy in each moment. Let us take time to nurture our spirits, care for one another, and give thanks for the gift of each new day.
