A QUICK MESSAGE FROM OUR IPAC LEAD I t's essential to monitor yourself for respiratory (e.g., cough, fever) or stomach- related (e.g., nausea, diarrhea) symptoms. If you feel unwell, even mildly, do not come to work to help prevent spreading illness in our Home. York Region Public Health Guidelines: Always report to your assigned Manager if you will not be attending to your scheduled shifts, and reach out to the IPAC Lead to discuss your return to work plan. As per York Region Public Health, symptomatic staff must be excluded from work until they are: Afebrile (without the use of fever-reducing medications), AND Symptoms have been resolving for at least 24 hours (48 hours for gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea). Masking is required Day 10 from symptom onset, even after returning to work.

T he Healthcare and Supportive Care Providers of Ontario Association (HSCPOA) is a professional organization dedicated to supporting Personal Support Workers (PSWs) across Ontario. It advocates for fair working conditions, promotes ongoing education and training, and ensures PSWs have a strong voice in the healthcare system. HSCPOA works to elevate the role of PSWs and recognize their essential contributions to patient care and community well-being. While membership is highly encouraged for all PSWs, it is not mandatory at this time.
