DECORATOR'S TECHNIQUES
EMBROIDERY Embroidery is sewing a design, type or logo onto a garment with special thread. This technique gives garments a higher perceived value and works particularly well on heavier weight garments such as fleece.
HEAT TRANSFER/DTF Heat transfer involves combining heat and pressure to transfer images to garments. This is a great option for detailed prints, customization, shorter runs and quick turnaround times. DISCHARGE This form of screen printing uses a water-based catalysed activator ink. The discharge agent neutralises the colour in the garment while also adding the new colour. Discharge base (without colourant) will discharge many garments to a soft natural colour.
SCREEN PRINT Screen printing (or silk screening) is a technique that uses stencils and ink to create designs on garments. It is the most economical method for producing large quantities that involve cotton or cotton-blend garments. DIRECT TO GARMENT Direct to garment printing (DTG) is printing on textiles using inkjet technology which usually utilizes specialized water-based inks. DTG is particularly effective for short runs, full colour printing, or for reproducing fine detail.
