Jesus our Lord. Let us earnestly pray that we may not doubt His own Word, but be lieve that what He has promised He will perform.” A subject for special prayer in the month of April is the Missionary Rally to be held at the Church of the Open Door during the week which opens on Easter Sunday. In stead of attending their usual classes, Insti tute students are to share in the week's meetings. Friends wishing to enroll in the Prayer Circle may write to Miss Braskamp at 558 S. Hope St., Los Angeles, Calif. What a Bible Woman’s Class Started A bold and winsome testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ recently appeared on the editorial page of the Call Bulletin, a daily newspaper in San Francisco, Calif. The statement was a letter by a seventeen-year- old high school girl, Elsie-Marion Gordon, in a contest on the subject of “Young America’s Greatest Need.” The Bible class to which Miss Gordon refers as being a “refuge” to her is one originally started by a Bible Woman of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. Miss Gor don’s letter follows: “I am just a young girl of seventeen, but beneath all the things that every girl wants and does, there is a big wish that I could help all other young people to know Christ—not just as a far-off name, but as a near, dear friend . . . And so, I’m dedi cating this letter to Him . . . "Life is so hard for young people today. W e are so bewildered—so lonely-—-under neath all our pretended sophistication. W e need some one to love us deeply . . . to guide us. And, even if you only think of Him as history, there was never such a friend as Christ! “The greatest need today is to make God real to young America. The eternal comfort and everlasting security that only our heavenly Father can give, must become a living reality to youth. “A constant refuge to me has been my High School Bible Club, under the direc tion of a saintly woman. “I would suggest the establishment of Greater American clubs, with higher ideals stressed, pure Christian fellowship, under standing and comfort. How many sorrows would never occur and how many noble lives would be created if such plans were a reality!” The concluding editorial statement ap pearing below the letter was, “A beautiful letter, child, and one that leaves us all the better for the reading.” Salvation Songs for Children Compiled by R U T H N. "God forbid that l should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you [/srae/] ” (1 Sam. 12:23). The plans for the forthcoming twenty- fourth Annual Conference of the Hebrew Christian Alliance at the First Methodist Episcopal Church, Eighth and Hope Sts., Los Angeles, Calif., April 30 to May 5, are progressing in a most encouraging manner. A representative local committee of fifty leading ministers, laymen, and lay- women has been formed under the leader ship of W . Bertrand Stevens, Roy L. Smith, Stewart MacLennan, Louis T . Talbot, David L. Cowie, Howard Fagan, Albert H. Ziegler and Mrs. Charles D. Hill. The entire committee are cooperating to make this unique, and unusual religious conven tion an outstanding success.; Among the speakers-^announced are Henry Cooper, Harcourt Samuel, and Bernard Segall of London, England. From widely scattered cities in Canada and the United States will come Hyman Appelman, Charles Feinberg, Jacob Gartenhaus, Mor ris Gordin, A. J. Kligerman, Joseph R. Lewek, Max Isaac Reich, Morris Zeidman and members of the Executive Committee of the American Alliance. Every speaker on the program will be a Hebrew Christian, and new heights in spiritual values will be attained under the direction of the Holy Spirit as the speakers teach the sacred Scriptures and God’s plan concerning Israel. The sympathy of the Lord’s people has been aroused on behalf of Israel by recent world events, and many will welcome this opportunity to hear prominent Hebrew Christian leaders. A fur ther announcement of this gathering ap pears on page 161 of this issue of T h e K ing ’ s B u sin ess . Inquiries concerning the conference may be addressed to Jacob Bemheim, Field Sec retary of the Hebrew Christian Alliance, in care of the First Methodist Episcopal Church, Eighth and Hope Sts., Los An geles, Calif. Biola’s World-Wide Prayer Circle Prayer that boldly depends upon God s own promises is being offered by friends of Biola who are enrolled in Biola’s World- Wide Prayer Circle, of which Miss Chris tina J. Braskamp is Secretary. These friends choose a definite weekly hour for intercession for the Institute, for its stu dents, and for the many phases of its evan gelistic ministry. Writing to Prayer Circle members some time ago, Miss Braskamp sent this mes sage: “Unitedly as a prayer circle, may we claim God’s promise that He will supply every need of the Bible Institute for this month according to His riches in Christ
