The Faculty and School’s aims are to produce collaborative, innovative and multidisciplinary research by working with some of the brightest and best researchers from around the world. Our vibrant interdisciplinary research community incorporates a wide breadth of specialisms and draws on the work of colleagues from Politics and International Relations, Media and Communication and Philosophy.
Our vision at the School of Social Sciences is to deliver world-leading research which influences national and international policy, informs global governance and enhances political engagement and civic inclusion.
RESEARCH EXPERTISE Research is key to our teaching, and we have expertise in various areas to help inform the latest and most innovative practices and curriculum to deliver. Our expertise covers: Social science approaches to international policy and area studies. The philosophical and critical study of war, security, and conflict. Government, governance, and comparative politics.
