CHEF GUARINO CREATES SIMPLE MEDITERRANEAN
The Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant L˜Aria is set in a lakefront building with large floor- to-ceiling windows. Executive Chef Vincenzo Guarino prepares traditional Mediterranean dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients sourced from small Italian producers. The open plan kitchen allows guests to watch the chefs at work, while a large terrace with wonderful lake views offers al fresco dining during the warmer months of the year. Executive Chef Vincenzo Guarino has over twenty years of culinary experience. Over the course of his career, he has worked with celebrated chefs such as Gualtiero Marchesi in Capri and Nazzareno Meneghini in Rome. During his time as Executive Chef at I Salotti at Hotel
Patriarca in Tuscany, L’Accanto in the Grand Hotel Angiolieri and Il Pievano Restaurant at Castello di Spaltenna, the restaurants received a string of awards, including entries in the Michelin guides. In April 2019, Chef Guarino joined Mandarin Oriental, Lago di Como as Executive Chef, leading L˜Aria to gain its first Michelin star only seven months after opening. Chef Guarino creates simple Mediterranean dishes with a twist, using high quality ingredients and innovative cooking techniques to bring out authentic flavours and aromas. As well as a selection of à la carte dishes, the restaurant offers tasting menus that bring out the best of the chef’s culinary creativity.
