Donato Bramante and Leonardo da Vinci both left a mark on Magenta, a district that is beautifully rich in art and history, attracting thousands of visitors every year. These two Italian geniuses came together and gave life to numerous masterpieces, including the Convento di Santa Maria delle Grazie , considered to be one of Italy’s most spectacular sights. A designated Unesco World Heritage Site since 1980, the church houses The Last Supper, while a stone’s throw away are the Casa degli

Atellani and La Vigna di Leonardo museums. The district is also home to the Basilica di Sant’Ambrogio , an Early Christian and medieval monument that is one of Milan’s oldest churches. The district bustles with tourists and students of the nearby Università Cattolica , and to this day is considered the heart of the city’s artistic heritage, where legends and history abound. Not to be missed is a peaceful stroll down Corso Sempione , which recalls Paris’s Champs-Elysées, with the Neoclassical Arco della

Pace standing at its eastern end. This area has also magnificently embraced the future, as evidenced by the urban redevelopment of the old trade fair quarter and the new CityLife district. Designed by renowned architects Zaha Hadid, Daniel Libeskind and Arata Isozaki, it is one of Europe’s most telling examples of European urban transformation, with residential buildings, offices, shops and services surrounded by a large public park.
