Once a city on water with navigable canals, Milan preserves traces of its past, with the popular Naviglio Grande and Naviglio Pavese located by the Darsena , Milan’s old harbour that was redeveloped for Expo 2015. The area is perfect for a Sunday stroll, especially on the last Sunday of the month when it hosts the lively Mercatone dell’Antiquariato (antiques market). The charming Navigli (canals) are renowned for their vibrant nightlife, with a wide range of exclusive bars and eateries open throughout the day

and night. Connecting the Basilica di San Lorenzo and Porta Ticinese , Corso Ticinese is an eclectic street lined with independent shops and ethnic restaurants. The road leads to the majestic Basilica di San Lorenzo , home to the Colonne di San Lorenzo , 16 Roman columns that are ancient remains of imperial Milan. Two of the city’s most popular streets are located just behind Porta Genova : Via Tortona and Via Savona , both the heart of Milan’s Design Week and renowned for their vast range of trendy bars and restaurants,

independent stores, workshops and artists’ studios. Among the area’s many cultural attractions, the MUDEC - Museum of Cultures is definitely worth a mention, as well as Armani/Silos, a museum dedicated to Giorgio Armani’s career. The lesser known Labirinto di Arnaldo Pomodoro located in the basement of the Fendi Showroom is an environmental installation that takes visitors on a journey of exploration that serves as a metaphor for our human experience. fashion
