Port Charlotte Public Library

This week at Port Charlotte, our Preschool Preppers explored the days of the week with Cookie the Cat, and our toddlers practiced their sign language with pumpkin faces. Spooky season is finally here, and we couldn’t wait to decorate! Families are enjoying a spider scavenger hunt challenge and voting to name our giant spider who guards the elevator. We also finished the Earn Your Wings reading challenge with eighteen certificates earned! Saturday’s What’s Cooking program had over 80 people in attendance and the group discussed legacy recipes. This topic was chosen after a staff person learned about a gravestone that had a recipe engraved on it—which recipe are you most well known for? Patrons enjoyed chocolate mayonnaise cake, cheesy potato casserole, blueberry dump cake, and more. About 20 individuals gathered at the Port Charlotte Library last week to attend Christopher Jimenez’s captivating talk on banned books.
